Friday FREEBIE 18

30/04/2010

Well did you guess what Tony and I were up to?  No I doubt it, so I will spill the beans.  We went all the way to Paris for a friend. He was having a "mile stone" birthday on the set up day of a show in Paris at which he was exhibiting.  No friends were going to be with him on his birthday, no wife, no English colleagues - ALL on his own. His wife and son were in on the secret so we all surprised him by walking into his favorite French restaurant - well you could have knocked him down with a feather.  It was such a wonderful evening well worth all the effort.

Back to ribbons, what do we have for this weeks Friday FREEBIE?  With all the excitement of this week I just could not decide what to put on offer, so......

you can choose.....

WANT IT ALL Pack of the NEW Velvet Bling Colours

or....

ALL the rolls in this weeks ribbon roll trolley

or.....

Bev's NEW Ribbon Bag - Pic Nic

Phew!!! that will get your minds a whirling - which one will you choose?  If we get more than 50 comments this week then we will pick TWO lucky numbers from the "Bingo" Bag, so tell all your friends and family to leave a comment!  We will not pick the winner(s) until Tuesday because of the Bank Hoilday, so plenty of time to leave comments.

Normal blurb - If your comment is being blocked by our spam filters please email the comment to us here craftyribbons@gmail.com and we will add it for you.  Your email address will then be verified and you will be able to leave further comments without any hassle.

The Crafty Team wishes you truly scrumptious Bank Holiday weekend - have fun.

Rolls a plenty

28/04/2010

What great value our fantastic ribbon rolls are at only 10p per mtr.  We try to add a basket a week, but like all plans it never quite happens in reality!

But we have added in NEW selection this week, well if I am truthful I added them on Monday but forget to tell you - sorry, (well I have had a lot to tell you, what with the NEW gorgouse Bling Ribbons and all the fantastic strawberry challenge goodies).

So without further ado here they are in their shiny shopping trolley.

What do we have in the shopping trolley? There is a delicious black sheer ribbon printed with soft purple flowers, a solid soft pine satin, ummh a classic gold edge taffeta (great for wrapping male gifts), ooooh there is a narrow printed fresco (not many of those, so get in quick).  You will find flowers, leaves, fish, swirls, plains, taffetas, satin, sheer and wire edge, cor what a collection.  To see all the fantastic bargain ribbon rolls in this collection then click HERE

I have two more selections of strawberry challenge creations, the first is from Linda who has sent in a "1st" for the blog...

Tatting and ribbons - Linda describes this as her "trademark" craft.  Not something I have tried, It looks amazing but is it fiddly? The little cream butterfly is delightful.

You are right Linda, a perfect colour combo to match the ribbons.  It is amazing how different crafts work so well with ribbon.

Do you remmber Esme the chicken wearing the easter ribbons?  Well Esme's eggs are going to be entered into a local produce show on 1st May - so we all have to keep our fingers crossed for her.  Good luck Esme.

The next two cards are twins...

... one dressed in white....

...the other dressed in pink!  These great cards were made by Natalie what  perfect creations.

If you look at the time I posted this you will see it was very early.  I don't do early!!!  We are heading for the port to take a crossing to France, we should be heading to heathrow to take a flight but as you all know there was a small problem recently and we found it hard to book!  Tony and I are up to no good - no it is not that bad, but it is a secret, cannot tell you now but will explain on Friday.

I am sure Tony won't mind if I have a little nap enroute!!!

More Bling

27/04/2010

We know you loved our velvet bling (click HERE to see) when we launched it way back in August - it does everything it says on the tin!  A velvet based ribbon that is highly glittered, but the best bit is the glitter does not fall off, honest we promise. Twenty stunning colours that enhance every project going, I love every single one of them BUT....

.....I wanted a white, oh and a sapphire would be wicked or maybe a cool copper.  Stop it Ali, you have every colour in the range.  Please Mr Manufacture can we have some NEW colours......

...."WHAT DO YOU THINK?"

Amethyst - Copper - Irrediscent - Rainbow - Rhodolite - Rose Quartz - Sapphire - Shocking Gold - Silver Noir - Snow White - Topaz

Yippee we have 11 NEW colours and a WANT IT ALL pack of just the NEW colours - how great is that?  You will find them ALL by clicking HERE.

Calm down Ali, you have some strawberry goodies to show everyone.  This collection was sent in by Carol,  I think Carol has been in every one of our challenges and we know she enjoys them.

This card is really funny, it sounds like me, I do enjoy a loooong soak after a hectic day at the office!!

These Tilda images are so cute, I read your comment about pens Carol, promarkers you say.  I have seen those at the shows, they are quite chunky with tips at both ends. To be honest I think I am holding back a little - as I know I will get hooked!!!  The colours here are just fantastic Carol.

Ooooh! Sweeties!! But how can you open such a creation, it's wicked Carol.

Isn't this rhyme just perfect?

Thank you Carol for your goodies, I am sure we will find a way into the chocs without touching the packaging!

Never work with children

26/04/2010

I totally agree, trying to take a photograph of Mollie with the winning Friday FREEBIE number today was almost impossible. What do you think...

This is Mollie just after pulling the number from the "Bingo" Bag - can you read the number?

Nope. Well is this any better? She is inspecting it to make sure she likes the number.

Nope well this one is much better, she is holding the number up.  So the winner of this weeks Friday FREEBIE is........

....O.K. I know Mollie is holding it the wrong way round but the Number is 30

30 = Jenny

Jenny wrote "Another fantastic freebie loads of lovely colours thanks for the chance to win."

Phew that was an effort, and I only showed you 3 photos!  Well done Jenny, please email us on craftyribbons@gmail.com with your address so we can send your winning gingham ribbons to you.  Thanks to everyone else for such super comments, we reached 50 again this week - fantastic.

Sounds like you are all gingham fans, well you will be pleased to hear that we have added some NEW colours to all the widths, we had these in stock but for some reason they were not on the site. (I think Rachie had ordered them by mistake, and was trying to hide them!!!!) Check out all the ginghams by clicking HERE  You can now buy ALL the gingham ribbons on 20mtr rolls, in ALL the colours - perfect.

We are still receiving Stawberry Challenge goodies in the post - thank you. So here is todays selection, but it is a mystery selection as there was no name or note in side the envelope - are these your wonderful creations? if so please do email me craftyribbons@gmail.com or leave a comment below.

This is a cheecky chappie! Great idea with the ribbons on different layers, thats new.

I do like this strawberry he is so much fun,  and the swirls and dots work so well together.

Love the ribbon rosette, I had a quick peek to see how it was made, (just so I could share it with you all!) It is hand gathered with little stitches and the centre is a brad - wicked idea.

The last goodies in the envelope were some pre stamped images for us to colour.  Thank you so much - who ever you are, that is so kind.  My colouring is still way off the mark, I think I need to experiment with a few different mediums to find the one I like.  Tony I need to go shopping!!

Anyone for a Picnic

25/04/2010

What a beautiful day for a picnic or as Sydney calls it a Nic Nic!

Pic Nic is what Bev has called her NEW Bev's Bag.  Bright red and white, with checks, polka dots (of course!), stripes, forget me nots and gingham.  I see some eyelash hiding in there as well as my NEW wide sheer glitter polka dots, that I have not found time to put on the site yet - I will get there, well only if I stop buying more NEW ribbons and I just can not see that happening!!!

Go on join in with the Pic Nic while you can, we all know what Bev is like - it will not be around for long!  Click HERE to bring the delights of Bev's NEW Ribbon Bag - Pic Nic to your home.

More strawberry delights on show today.

I think this is a "pyramid" card and it has been skillfully crafted by Margaret. Looks amazing and I love the ribbon bow that is not a bow! I am sure you understand what I mean!

What a cheecky little strawberry girl is and a perfect colour match.

Great idea to colour the edges Margaret that brings together the lilac strawberry ribbon.

Oooo, this card is a bit different, I have taken a side view to show you the different levels.

Margaret is that clever or what?

Our next batch of creations have come all the way from Houston in America, our blog is really becoming international! Yippee!!

This is Alecia's "Light of my Life" card - fantastic.

Alecia really enjoyed playing with the fun ribbons, she has certainly made some fun creations.

This is really fun - it looks as if it has been made on exercise book paper! Thats different, "thanks berry much Alecia!"

We hope you are getting lots of inspiration from all these talented crafters, they all come up with some super creations.

Have a fantastic weekend, enjoy the weather - I have some garden work planned so I expect it will rain!!!

Strawberry Basket

22/04/2010

Bev came into work the other day feeling very low, so to cheer up I said she could open one of my Challenge parcels.  (They always make me smile and feel good.)

The next minute she was running off saying "...this is for me, i'm keeping it. I want".  I hadn't even got a glimpse of what was inside the box, so I started chasing her "It's mine, give it back!). I don't know - sisters.

When I finally prized the box from her hands - having had to promise to make her a cup of tea, I saw this....

WOW! What can I say - it is adorable Jenny.  The basket is hand woven from paper and the strawberries are also made from paper with little ribbon tops.  I can see why Bev WANTED them, and we have not even shown them to Rachie or Syd yet!!!

Jenny sent in this matching card, sorry I just had to photograph that strawberry again, I can not believe it is made from paper.

A complete colour change for Jenny's last creation, the gaps between the ribbon have been filled with something that glitters, very attractive.

I think you are loving this strawberry ribbon, this is an easel card from Tracey and Paul, but it is rather special as it's a photograph.  Tracey found a local photographer who would allow them to use his photographs on their cards, and Tracey convinced him to take some strawberry photos.  Wicked Tracey, they work perfectly together.

So elegant Tracey and Paul and I love the way you have put the strawberry from the ribbon onto the little T-shirt - very clever.

Don't worry if you have sent in your goodies and I have not shared them yet, they are all waiting in turn for their showcasing.

Till tomorrow....

Strawberry Tarts Today!

21/04/2010

Today we have strawberry tarts, ooh just like the ones you get in France, yummy.  Sadly these tarts were sent in by Dorothy and we can not eat them boo hoo!

Can't see the tarts....

... they are on the inside of the card.  This late in the day Dorothy I could just tuck into one of those tarts.

What a refreshing card, Dorothy has cut individual strawberries from the ribbon to edge the card - amazing detail.

This is a cheerful card, all those colours, I love the way the strawberry ribbon matches the little girl's hat.

I had forgotten about these fairy characters, and had no idea there was a strawberry fairy, great thinking Dorothy.

Another ATC to add to my collection - thank you.

This creation is more then just a card, have a look.....

... this is the inside, and....

...this is the back.  Wow a piece of art, how can you bear to part with these creations Dorothy.

Dorothy tells me that the little girl is called "Strawberry Shortcake" and is a free image, she didn't tell me from where - sorry.

The last items in Dorothy's parcel were for me - to practice my colouring.  As you all know I am not very good at it, so practice I will, just like my French!

Thank you for such wonderful strawberry creations Dorothy.  I had to chase Bev around the warehouse to get hold of tomorrows showcase - that will keep you guessing!!!

Strawberry Jam

20/04/2010

We are showcasing Wilma's goodies from our ribbon Challenge - Strawberry Shortcake today and she has cooked us up some yummy creations.

Clump Farm Strawberry Jam - is that somewhere down Tin Pot Lane Wilma? Very clever.  Not only do we have the jam pot but....

....we have the reciept too. Wilma there is NO WAY I can cook in my NEW kitchen! I have only just worked out how to turn the oven on without the manual!!! But Tony is very partial to Victora sponge with strawberry jam, so it will definately get used.

Oh!  This is scrummy, please correct me if I am wrong, but I think it is "Tea bag" folding.

I love the way you have woven the strawberry ribbon Wilma, looks stunning.

Not sure I have confessed this before, but I am a "Note Book Girl", I have hundreds, all shapes and sizes, so this little sweetie will be finding it's way into my private stash! Wilma has stitched the ribbon to create the pleats, then stuck them dowm, ingenious.

Ooooooh and its got room for lists, the girls will tell you all about my lists!

This is rather special too, what a clever use of the ribbon. You have excelled yourself Wilma, some great treasures, we hope they have inspired you to do a little bit of crafting with ribbon.

Laughing I will let you into a little secret, only if you read this posting will you know, we are not telling the "world" until tomorrow. Wink

Strawberry Delights

19/04/2010

What a fantastic weekend, the weather was brill down here in Dorset, Bev even mangaed an afternoon on the beach making sand castles with the kiddies.

Last day of the school holidays, back to normal tomorrow (phew!), so Sydney wanted to pick this weeks Friday FREEBIE winner.  She had been helping me take photos of the challenge goodies, and took rather a shine to one of Beryl's creations.

This weeks Friday FREEBIE winner is......

No.  39 Irene

She wrote "Rainbows, holidays,  happy days - these ribbons cover all days!!! "

Congratulations Irene you have won a WANT IT ALL pack of the Saddle Stitch Ribbons all we need is your address, please email us at craftyribbons@gmail.com

Wow we had lots of comments this week, thank you all so much, what fantastic things you wrote.  I have a confession though, I did not make the shoes - I fell in love with them last year, and would not wear them until I had found the manufacturer of the ribbon.  They have been photographed and sent all over the world to try and track it down.  I wanted the ribbon so badly (I know - get a life Ali!!!).  I believe that the style of shoe is now sold out BUT I will share this seasons with you later in the week.  TEE HEE!!

Did you spot Beryl's wonderful wall hanging that Syd was holding in the picture above? Well here is a close up...

This is the top section and then we have the others...

Sorry Beryl I just could not get a good picture, it is amazing, each section has been decoupaged and then joined together with the strawberry ribbon, little flowers and butterflies are floating around each section.

This card is so delicate Beryl, it's great thank you.

I agree with you Marjorie this is my favourite one too, the colours are so soft.

I was very unsure whether to buy this yellow coloured strawberry ribbon, I thought it looked more like carrots! But I used it on my strawberry scrap page (click here to see) and like Marjories card I think it looks fab.

Perfect colours Marjorie, they work reallly well with the ribbon and backing papers, a great combo.

I will be sharing further challenge goodies with you everyday this week, so please keep checking back.

We added a NEW shopping trolley full of Bargain Ribbon Rolls today - have a peek a boo at them HERE

We had some bad news earlier today, Rachie may be stuck on the Isles of Scilly as the helicopers have been grounded - swim Rachie!!!!
