Marie Celeste

29/03/2010

It was like the Marie Celeste when we turned up for work this morning.

The security gate was wide open, although the door was locked, Bev and I looked at each other - what should we do.  Bravely we unlocked the door and went in, lights were on radio playing BUT no Ali and Tony or anybody else!

Then the penny dropped, Ali and Tony must have turned up really early to drop the exhibition stand off then dissapeared - they are moving house today.  How could we have forgotten Ali has talked about it non stop for weeks!!!!

On to the winner of this weeks Friday FREEBIE, thanks for all your comments and Birthday messages - honest my Birthday is on the 1st April.

No children today so a lone "Bingo" bag.  The winner is......

No. 14 Karen J

It's only a computer!

24/03/2010

We recieved a SOS call from Ali at the NEC, in a complete panic, what was wrong? maybe an accident, but NO, she had left her rucksack with her computer, camera and near enough the kitchen sink at home. How will she survive? no internet access, no photos to take, i don't think she will survive this disaster, she will be having the shakes by now, and all we could do was laugh, and we informed her that we shall now have our mobiles turned off, so she cannot keep an eye on us, hee hee, thats what sisters are all about.

Tracey & Paul

23/03/2010

Tracey and Paul have been entering our Ribbon Challenges from way back in the beginning - I think they have been in all 13 Challenges.  They always make two cards, one is made by Tracey and the other by her husband Paul.  They never tell me who makes which, but their cards are always fresh and inspiring and the Easter Challenge cards are no exception.

I believe this is the first card with acetate that they have sent back - we love the way Tracey or Paul have transfered the butterfly design onto the acetate, very clever.

This card is so simple but perfect.  Thank you for your stunning designs and hope you enjoyed the ribbons as much as everyone else.

We are all loaded and ready for our trip up to Birmingham early tomorrow morning. A huge, mega thanks to all our girls, they did sterling work re-stocking the stand, not one empty peg!

It will be great to see  some of you at Hobbycrafts this week - so don't forget to pop by and say "hi!"

I hope to be back tomorrow night with another collection of Easter Challenge goodies. Tony has just reminded me that we can not get a mobile signal at our hotel, so my internet dongle may not work. I am sure to find a way round that Tony!

Crazy day

22/03/2010

We have all had a crazy day today.  The exhibition stand came back so empty from The Stitch and Craft show at Olympia, that we ALL helped with restocking for the Hobbycraft Show at the NEC this week.  Even Tony, who is partially colour blind.  Can you imagine - we had to tell him which peg to put some bags of ribbon onto.  In the end we decided he was creating more work for the rest of us!!!!  The stand is nowhere near complete and the loading bay looks as if a bomb has exploded, with crates of stock all over the place.  It will all be back to normal tomorrow evening - fingers crossed!!!

We only just remembered to pick the winner for this weeks Friday FREEBIE as everyone was ready to go.  So the winner is.......

...of the Polka Dot 15mm WANT IT ALL Collection

No. 7 - Tams

Tams wrote - Wow some fabulous entries for the spring competition!! I love the little egg boxes!!

As for the pretty ribbons!! they just make me go all dotty!! I shall sign on the dotted line!!

Have a fabulous weekend!

You know what to do Tams - send us an email to craftyribbons@gmail.com with your address and we will post a load of Dots to you!  Thanks for your wonderful comments, we all had fun reading them.  I will continue showing you the Easter challenge goodies again this week, so keep looking.

Just in case you are wondering, we have not locked the little ones in a metal cage. This is one of the cages we use in the lorry, it's on wheels and they have been playing with it, pushing each other around.

Thank you girls the cards and egg keepers are fantastic, Rachie is going to have a huge problem to decide a winner.  The competition is still open, so please keep sending in your "Spring" crafty goodies.

Spring is here Competition - something we have never done before.  Competition time! It is all about Spring, anyone can enter from children to grans, everyone is welcome. All you have to do is make a card or project using ribbon for Spring, it does not have to be our ribbon (although it would be extra nice if it was!).  Take a photo of the project  and email the picture to us at craftyribbons@gmail.com  , please mark your email SPRING Competition.  If you are not able to photograph the card then pop it into the post to us at Crafty Ribbons, 3 Beechwood, Clump Farm, Tin Pot Lane, Blandford, Dorset DT11 7TD and we will take the pic for you.

Closing date is 31st March and Rachie will pick the winner on the 1st April (it's her Birthday but no bribing her with chocs!!!!) Yes there is a prize for all your effort.  The winner will receive 1mtr of all the 196 colours in the 3mm satin range WOW! and they can pick a WANT IT ALL Collection of their choice.

I had better get ready for the exhibtion, not sure it would look good turning up in my PJ's!  Have a fantastic weekend and I hope to see some of you, we know Maggie is coming.

Easter Bonnet

18/03/2010

Yes Beryl we sold lots of stuff today!  But don't worry we still have tons left.

Still showing the projects from our Ribbon Challenge "Easter" and tonight we are seeing Dorothy's creations.

Easter would not be Easter without a bonnet and this one is fantastic.....

.....look all the flowers are made from ribbon!

This card is great fun and has a acetate front, but there is a secret inside.

What fun.

With all that chocolate it must be an Easter card - good enough to eat Dororthy.

Don't want to wear an Easter Bonnet then how about a spring style hair band.  The little egg has also been covered in ribbon.

These little bags are just scrummie and they are just big enough to hold eggs and mints.

A wonderful selection of makes Dorothy - thank you.

Sorry it is a short post tonight, but I must get my beauty sleep!!!

London Buzz

17/03/2010

It feels good being in London, it's like putting your finger into an electric socket - you get a buzz!! Living in Dorset is wonderful, but not a lot happens, but in London it's all happening at once. I am not saying I want to move here but it's just gives me a good feeling, by Sunday evening I will want to return to my sleepy Blandford.

The alarm went off at some very silly hour this morning, so it has been a very long day.  The stand is all set up, and I think it looks fab (that maybe a somewhat bias opinion!).  If you are coming to the Stitch & Craft at Olympia this week then you can not miss our stand - it is at the bottom of the escalator and you have to look down at the stand till you get to the top!

Your goodies look amazing all along the ribbon units, on the back walls and above the button trays, and tonight I am going to show you the cards that Marjorie created with our Ribbon Challenge 13 "Easter".

Marjorie this is such a fresh spring card and it uses 4 different ribbons - I like!

The stripe ribbon Marjorie has used here is rather unique, it's hard to describe - how about jelly stripes on ribbon!!  The coloured stripes are slightly raised and it feels wicked; hope you enjoyed using it Marjorie.

Marjorie also used the Sydney ribbon in pink and she has teamed it up with polka dots - oh and the cute little bunny.

That's me all done, I am bushed.
