Bias Binding–perfect job

My niece Mollie is planning a new colour scheme for her bedroom.
She wanted her chair recovered to match her curtains, so who does she ask?
Auntie Ali!
It was very easy to recover, I just unpicked the the cover that was on the chair and used it as the template.
Simple.
Our Bias binding was just perfect for the job, lovely colours to choose from and only 25p a mtr.

Slithers of snakes

It's OK - NOT real snakes!
I read about a lady that was trying a world record attempt for the most number of snakes hand crafted.
So either sewn, knitted or crocheted.
Slithers of Snakes wanted 1000 snakes!
I love crochet, so I made these two snakes and used ribbon for their tongues and small Basic 2 Go buttons for the eyes.
The record attempt is TODAY, so I have my fingers crossed they make it.
If they do, does that make ME a record breaker?
The snakes are being sold after they have been counted, the money raised is for Alzhiemers Research UK

Helmet bag

I like to try and use ribbon when ever I can (no surprise there!!)
My niece was getting a new bike and my sister asked me to make a bag to keep her helmet in.
Umm, but could I make it to match her bike and helmet! (sisters for you)
After a little bit of thinking and a trip to the fabric shop to find the blue fabric, I started to play.
I used black grosgrain ribbon to enhance the design between the blue and black fabric. I also used it for the drawstrings.
Mollie decided that when her helmet was on her head, she could use the bag to carry Hugh her teddy!

Surface Ribbon Embroidery

Have you tried Surface Ribbon Embroidery?
The ribbons remain on the surface of the fabric so you use just a normal needle, nothing fancy!
This is one of my new kits here Fairy Door.
The Fairy door is printed onto the fabric, so you simply embroider the flowers on top.
You then add as much detail as you want to make this a true masterpiece.

Ribbon embroidery flower kits

Do you like ribbon embroidery?
Have you tried it?

How can a flat piece of silk ribbon be turned into this……
It just stands out from the fabric.
My Lavender Flowers are made from one stitch.
Ribbon Stitch.
Once you learn this basic stitch, just add other embroidery stitches.
These new kits are super easy.
I have printed the design onto the fabric, so you just embroidery over the top.
You can achieve stunning results.
and from just ribbon!
Finished kits are 10cm by 10cm,
and all you need to make the kits, is an embroidery hoop (only if you use one),
scissor and a ruler.
