We got prezzies!
14/10/2009
We have had so much fun with our Friday FREEBIES - sending out prezzies each week is so wicked. BUT.... receiving them is even better!!!
We had a wonderful parcel marked with "The Crafty Ribbon Crew" (I like that!) and inside we had treats for all. Lynne was one of the winners of our Christmas Selection Box a few weeks back, she is a Dorset girl so came and collected her prize from the warehouse. Sadly she crashed her car on the way home, she is ok but is without a car for the moment. Look what she has made for the "Crew" - this cheeky reindeer is soooo soft, after we all had a cuddle I whisked her away into my exhibition display box - so pop by at the next exhibition and say "Hi" to her. She needs a name - any ideas?
This is our FIRST Christmas card - look at those ribbons, we love gingham. We thought last year was a gingham Christmas but from the sales so far, it looks as if 2009 is going to top 2008. I love gingerbread men (real ones that you can eat) tied with gingham ribbon. I keep meaning to make some - but then I would have to confess to Tony that I know where the kitchen is!
There is more - we all got a delightful fabric sack filled with coins, trimmed with ribbon and a tag. Thank you Lynne, I can not promise that the choccies will make it till Christmas. All the ribbons Lynne used came from her Christmas Selection Box prize.
I had this crazy idea in the summer for the Christmas Selection Box of ribbons - I made a mock up of the deisgn, (I only had tiny pieces of ribbons from colour charts, poking out of the holes). I showed it to the team to get their reaction to see if we should take it further. With thumbs up from everyone, I made the commitment and placed the order. To get the amazing price of £5.00 each, I had to order oodles of them (scarey moment), whats even more scarey is that we have sold them.....ALL. The entire shipment has gone, every single one. You are loving them, the ribbons, the box, the design. Don't panic - we have an urgent shipment due in Monday, so we will have plenty to take to Glasgow for the Hobbycraft show next week.
I had a secret email from Beryl asking who our 3 little helpers were. They normally come into the office on Monday afternoons to take part in the Friday FREEBIE "Bingo" bag moment!!! Why did Beryl want to know?
She had made these gorgeous mini santa books for our little ones. All the ribbons had come from the Selection Box we sent her for challenge 8. These are just wonderful, each page is decorated differently, they must have taken you ages Beryl.
Beryl designed these books for her grandaughters - the story goes that if you write in them (room for some pictures too) and leave the book out with cookies and milk on Christmas eve, then Santa will know what to leave you. What a brillant idea - does it work for adults too?
On the back page they have their names - Mollie, Sydney and Sam. Beryl these are adorable, I showed them to Bev and Rachie and they were overwhelmed - Thank You, you are so talented.
Some kind person has given me wonderful cold from Ally Pally, so I am coughing and spluttering around the warehouse feeling sorry for myself, I can even answer the phone and nobody knows it me!! I have a big pile of envelopes that contain our BLING challenge goodies, more on that later in the week, I am off to bed - Tony I need extra TLC.....Please.

Thank you to everyone who left a comment, it's lovely reading and re-reading them! Tony and Ali are back from London. Beryl you make me fill sooooooo bad!! I don't dare tell you that I still have NEW ribbons to add to the site. Your BLING should be arriving today - at least you will able to tell your other half it was FREE!!!
It was a very busy day at The Knitting and Stitching Show yesterday, I have never seen our stand look so messy at the end of the day!!!! We have a action packed weekend coming up, out tonight with colleagues to celebrate Tony's birthday, and going to a wedding on Saturday evening (Leighs son), so if there is nobody on the stand on Sunday you will know why!!!
Overload of Hearts
07/10/2009
You probably have gathered that I have a serious ribbon addiction! There appears to be no cure, so I just keep giving in and buy more NEW ribbons. (I have no will power!)
I wanted to add a collection of hearts ribbons to compliment our "Love" ribbons - the only problem I had was deciding which hearts I liked! So I put together several ranges - well how could I reject these ribbons they are sooooooo scrummy.
Mini Hearts - 10mm narrow grosgrain ribbon, printed with mini hearts. This ribbon is so cute, and blends perfectly with the "Love" range of ribbons. Only a small range with 12 colours but the colours all work together, look at the picture!
10mm Single Hearts - Oh I do love my heart ribbons!! A grosgrain ribbon, printed with a single row of hearts. The hearts are printed in two colours. There are 10 glorious colours to choose from, if you have trouble picking the colours then why not go for our "WANT IT ALL" offer
Love Hearts - 16mm grosgrain ribbon, printed with a row of hearts and polka dots running along the length of the ribbon.. There are 10 glorious colours to choose from, add some Love Hearts to your projects!
16mm Single Heart - If our 10mm Single Heart ribbon is not wide enough for you then this may just be the one you are looking for. 16mm grosgrain ribbon, printed with a single row of hearts. The hearts are printed in two colours. There are 10 glorious colours to choose from.
Check out this months copy of "Sew Magazine" - Sew Designer Corinne Bradd has used our Love and Heart ribbons to make a wicked pincushion, it looks stunning. You can see it on Pages 70 and 71.
Tomorrow is the first day of The Knitting and Stitching Show - so wish us luck!

You are loving our NEW Bling!!!!!
Our Ribbon Challenge # 9 is full.
Sorry if you missed out on this challenge but we have another one coming up soon, so check back regularly. Don't forget that the bling ribbons will be put onto the website next week after our show in London.
Ribbon Challenge # 9
04/10/2009
SORRY THIS CHALLENGE IS FULL.
Remember a while back I told you I had a NEW range of ribbons inspired by a pair of shoes. Sydney and Bev wore these shoes into work and I made a very simple comment, "oh I can get ribbons like that" - Bev nearly tore my office apart trying to locate the sample card!!!
- WARNING - WARNING - WARNING -
SUNGLASSES MUST BE WORN BEFORE LOOKING AT THIS NEXT PICTURE!
Crafty Ribbons has BLING!!!
This ribbon arrived in the warehouse last Monday, I didn't have to twist any arms in getting this hanked up for Exeter - although I do not recall any of the off cuts coming back in to the warehouse. Ummm will have to remember to ask tomorrow. This is a 10mm velvet ribbon that is highly glittered, but the glitter does not come off which is great.
I had to make an emergency call to the office from Exeter on Thursday afternoon - we had sold out of 5 colours and still had three and half days to go. Tony and I could not believe it, customers were coming up with armfulls! I had to ask, I needed to know - "What are you going to do with it?" We received mixed replys - "Look at it, stroke it." "Don't know - I just need it!" "I will think of something."
So Ribbon Challenge # 9 is Crafty Bling!
We have 10 free bundles of Bling to give away, each bundle will contain lengths of all the 20 colours (NOT on the website - yet!). All we ask in return for these ribbons are two cards or projects that include lots of Bling! The ribbons can be used to enhance all forms of card making, projects or ATC's.
If you are up to the challenge, then send us an email to info@craftyribbons.com marked RIBBON CHALLENGE # 9! The first 10 to reply will be sent an email requesting address details so we can send your free ribbons!! Your finished cards will be posted onto our blog and displayed on our exhibition stands.
Sorry these ribbons will not be going onto the website until after our next exhibition - BUT you can always come to The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace and pick some up - we do not charge for stroking!!!!!

It’s Friday FREEBIE!
Ali has taken a rare day off, how dare she! So it has been left up to me to pick a Friday FREEBIE.
Thought it was about time to make a NEW Bev’s Bag and I have been secretly squirreling away a selection of ribbon rolls so Ali wouldn’t guess what I was up too. I was doing ever so well until she noticed 3 of her NEW velvets disappear. She misses nothing!!
This is my NEW dramatic Mono and Silver Bev’s Bag. It’s a stunner, it glitters and sparkles and is so gorgeous!!! Lots of different ribbons, sheer, wire edge, taffeta, netting, cow print, velvets, grosgrain, zebra, glitter dots, polka dots – we cannot have a Bev’s Bag without polka dots, can we?
Anyway a quick add up and there is 23mtrs of ribbon to the value of £11.76 and it can be yours for £5.00 or even better FREE. Eight ribbons are brand NEW and not on the website yet.We have 5 Bev’s Bags for this weeks Friday FREEBIE. All you have to do for a chance to win one is to leave a comment below, between now and Monday afternoon, when we will pick 5 winners from our “Bingo” Bag.
Don’t forget that the little pink and lime bag is not part of the deal – it’s mine!!! If you are not feeling lucky or cannot wait until Monday to see if you have won, you can buy one of my NEW Bev’s Bags by clicking HERE.
Have a great weekend.

We took all of these boxes to the Exeter Show and we had some really wonderful comments about them. They are just amazing and works of art, if you are coming to a show this Autumn try and stop by and have a look at them.
Not quite sure how but I overlooked some of the cards that were made for this challenge, sorry 'human' (Ali) error!!
This cheeky card was made by Amanda, sorry I overlooked it. I think I got so excited about the hanging decoration you also made.
Carol F sent in this little booklet, all tied up with ribbon!
The inside has little pockets!
Carol also sent in this delightful Christmas puppy, who could resist him.
I also overlooked Wilma's Happy Christmas couple, sorry. Don't they just look stunning.
Sadly we still have parcels that have gone astray, when or if they turn up, I promise to show you all.
I have that funny feeling again, it must be the thought of a new challenge!!
One Hundred!
29/09/2009
Can you believe it, I have just finished putting another 10 Fantastic Bargain Ribbon Rolls on to the website, this brings the total number to 100 Rolls!!
100 different rolls of colour and textures and amazing value at only 10p per mtr. Before you say it, there are not 100 rolls on the site - nope, we have sold out of nearly one third of the designs. So if you see something you like in this weeks selection... go for it! It may not be there next time you look. See them all HERE
I think this Lime Sheer is a wicked colour, soooooo lush!
What about this delicious Antiquity Satin, those colours are to die for.
This roll would be perfect for wrapping Halloween prezzies - it would certainly make your parcel stand out with the burnt orange and black colours.
Sam has decided to come and join me, and has taken rather a keen interest in my laptop, so I will sign off for now, I may be back later.
