Friday FREEBIE Winners

We have pulled the numbers for the 5 lucky winners of our Christmas Ribbon Selection Boxes.

As there were 5 prizes we all joined in to pick a number. The lucky Friday FREEBIE numbers were....

So the prizes go to numbers

1 - Vicky Wigmore

5 - Lynne

6 - Marjorie

16 - Tracey

19 - Sarah

Please email us your address so we can get your boxes into the post, we hope to receive some photos of the goodies you make from them! Thank you all for the great comments, don't forget to check back on Friday to see this weeks FREEBIE.

Thanks for all your good luck wishes for the Exeter Show - they must have worked, we had a massive show.  We just could not believe the wonderful reactions we received for all the new goodies, (Sorry blog readers and website buyers, an awful lot of the NEW goodies have not been launched yet - my job this week!!).  The exhibition closed at 5 yesterday and we were still serving at half past!!  We even ran out of paper bags, customers were putting buttons in their purses and ribbons loose in their bags! The exhibition stand looked as if it had been attacked by a swarm of locusts.  We had sold out of many colours and you could see the back boards of the ribbon cabinets, but don't worry the stand has been unloaded and is already being restocked.

Tony and I are totally cream crackered, as one collegue told us, "You may be fit, but you are not match fit! - you do not do all the shows now".  The thought of going off to another show tomorrow, makes me feel ill!!!!!!! Our next show is The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace starting on Thursday 8th to 11th October - poor Tony is spending another birthday at Ally Pally.

I have lots to do this week, so bye for now.....

Friday FREEBIE

25/09/2009

It’s Friday again so it must be Friday FREEBIE!  Tony and I are at the Creative Stitches and Hobbycraft exhibition in Westpoint Exeter and are being joined by Rachie and Bev, so the office is closed for the day.  Whether Rachie and Bev will spend much time helping us on the stand is unsure. I have a feeling they are coming to do a little bit of retail therapy!!!!

Yesterday was the first day we had our NEW Christmas Selection Boxes on display and they were much loved, as were all the wonderful cards you made for the last challenge. So this weeks Friday FREEBIE is.... A Christmas Selection Box.   Not only 1 BUT we have 5 up for grabs, so five lucky winners this week.

We promise that they will not be this large!  They wouldn’t fit through the letter box, would they.  This is one of several canvases that arrived for our exhibition stand.  It was wonderful, I had them all lined up around the warehouse, I felt as if I was in an art gallery.  Just imagine I could have my name in lights – “Photo Art by Ali Grantham” – if only!!!

There are 26 mtrs of ribbon in each Selection Box, all different – some skinny Christmas, gingham, taffeta, satin, pearl edge, metallic – a true selection box for Christmas crafting. So please do your normal and leave a comment to win a Friday FREEBIE and this week there will be 5 numbers picked from our Bingo Bag on Monday!!

Linda from our Ribbon Challenges came to see us yesterday, it was really good to meet her, so please do come and say hi to us at one of the shows if you can.  We may not recognise you, so you may have to give us a little nudge in the right direction but we do get there in the end!

Satin Winner is...

Hi Sue Please email us your address fo we can send you 196mtrs of ribbon - all different colours!!!  There will be a lot of envious people out there tonight. Thank you all for your wonderful comments, we so enjoyed reading them. We would love to make you all winners.

Sorry we have not been blogging much, we are all setting the exhibition stand up ready for Exeter this week.  We had a late delivery that turned up today and I so wanted to get the ribbons on the stand, so with a bit of huffing and puffing (quite a bit really!) Rachie re set the displays for me, after I had persuaded our outworkers to spend the evening chopping and packing all the ribbons.  These are the ribbons I selected after seeing a pair of shoes that Bev wore into the office!!!!  They will not be on the website for a while, but you can see them first in Exeter!!  We have so many NEW ribbons on the exhibition stand and hundreds of awesome buttons, I am not sure there will be room for Tony and myself!

I have not forgotten that I have not shown you the box sleeves from the last ribbon challenge, these will be on display in Exeter and I will post them on the blog next week.  We are still waiting for a few parcels to turn up, I have a horrid feeling they may be caught up in the postal strike.  I have my mind on the next challenge mmmmmm... maybe the ribbons that arrived today! Do not forget to check back for this Fridays FREEBIE.

Friday FREEBIE!

18/09/2009

I feel as if I have just finished a marathon - not the running bit, but the exhaustion afterwards. We now have a NEW range of 3mm Satins with a whopping 196 colours!!!! Yes I did say One Hundred and Ninety Six. It has taken me an age to upload them all onto the website, I am sure I heard it groaning and creaking.

As we all know, 3mm satin is the "rock" of the ribbon world, if in doubt you can always use 3mm satin, it ties bows, sticks, loops, tags, washes - basically does it all.  Look at all the scrummy colours HERE. No, no I really mean it YOU MUST LOOK HERE.  Remember me, and all the blood sweat (not quite!) and tears I went through to get all these different colours on the site for YOU.

This is Friday - so the FREEBIE is.....

I asked Bev what she thought of 1mtr of all 196 colours - I was rather surprised by her reaction. "NO WAY! No one will want that Ali, anyway it will take me hours to open every roll and cut 1mtr"  But I have already cut them BEV.  "Cool, Wicked, Great Prize, cor that would be a dream Friday FREEBIE - not available on the High Street"

So if you want to get your sticky mits on these beautiful babes, all you have to do is leave a comment on the blog (below) and our Friday FREEBIE of 196 different colours all 1mtr long could be yours.  We will randomly pick the winner (from our Bingo Bag) on Monday afternoon.  Good luck everyone.

Not a lucky person, or just love the NEW colours then you can get some extra colours free this weekend.  Order any 5 bags of ribbons and you can choose another 3 Bags FREE - 8 bags of 3mm satin for £5.00 No special code needed, just pick your colours and the website will do the rest.  Offer will be removed when we open on Monday morning.  The hardest thing will be to choose the colours, are you a Cappuccino, or Latte girl?

Have a great weekend.

Forgot the Rolls!

15/09/2009

Oops!! I forgot to tell you about this weeks selection of bargain rolls - so here they are.....

I was right about the wide satin roll last week - yep all gone!  This weeks wicked roll for me is the Java, (blue roll in the middle).  It's a printed Fresco ribbon, which is a bit like grosgrain but not as firm, with a rustic feel, just delicious.

We are feeling the strain in the warehouse this week, Rachie is away on holiday in the Lake District.  It is Rachie and Martens first holiday with little Miss Mollie, the amount of "stuff" they packed they should have taken our lorry!!  With one man missing we all have to do a little bit extra, we don't mind as Rachie has been texting us some wonderful pictures of Mollie - eating her first Ice Cream!!!

I have been dealing with printers - I am sure they are not from this planet.  But I have finally got what I wanted and 10,000  are being delivered next week.  Nope, not telling you anymore, but I'm sure you will get to see them at some point.

We received a delightful thank you email from a very happy customer and thought we would share it with you all.

"Hi

Just wanted to drop you a quick email to say thank you!!!  I am a ribbon addict and use ribbons on my cards, scrapbook layouts, cakes etc (pretty much any where I can add a ribbon) but always find it hard to find good quality affordable ribbon (sadly the recession means a scrappy budget), I came across your website last week and was delighted with your selection, not to mention the value bags and Bev's bag, so dived in and ordered a few!!!

They arrived today and I was delighted to discover a sea of beautiful ribbons in my mailbox......loved each and everyone of Bev's bags ribbons, you can't beat the price tag and the ribbons are sooo pretty!!!  The value bags were fantastic with loads of ribbons that I know I will find a good home for!!!!  Have already been back on to place my next order (tho I must confess the Christmas Selection box is for me.....couldn't chose which Xmas ribbons to pick so this is a great way to get samples of each!!!!)

I look forward to visiting your stand at the RDS in Dublin in November!!!!

many thanks

Charmaine

We will also look forward to meeting you in Dublin Charmaine and your new order left today!!!!!  We start our first Autumn show next week in Exeter,  please, please do come and say "Hi" if you come to the show.

Challenge # 8 Goodies

11/09/2009

I have wanted to show you these goodies all week, I have been bursting with excitement - we even have a Christmas monkey!!!  We hope you enjoy the creations our talented Challenger crafters have made, using our NEW Christmas Selection Box, as much as we have.

This parcel from Amanda arrived the morning we left for holiday, I only popped into the office to pick something up, but by the time I opened up the parcel and did all the ooooing and ahhhing we almost missed the boat!!

Amanda used 12 of the 26 ribbons from the selection box. I have this hanging in my office, I promise it will make it onto the exhibition stand - honest.  All the letters have been hand drawn with faux stitching, just love it.

Jan missed a couple of challenges because she was rushed into hospital, so glad you are back - we missed you.

I have no idea how you did these trees Jan, but they are wicked.  I do hope the detail comes out in the photo.

I am a sucker for snowflakes and snowmen, I think this ribbon snowman is so cute.  Brilliant idea for the large trees Jan, they mimic the smaller ones on the ribbon below - clever.

Leigh is solely responsible for getting me into card making, I am in awe of all her craft goodies.  These baubles are new Leigh!

Is this is a zig zag or is it called a pop up card?  What ever it is called, it's adorable.

The detail on this stamp is amazing, Leigh has put red glitter on Santa's hat on the card above.

This card has a surprise on the inside......

Amazing, such great fun.

Linda and Cath said they had so much fun with this Challenge.

I had not thought of cutting the little hats out - what a great idea.

Linda and Cath wanted to keep simplicity in mind with their creations this time, to encourage others to create their own "masterpieces" with ribbon.  I adore the baubles on the tree!

Maggie this backing paper could have been made for our ribbons, what a perfect combination.

This card is scrummy Maggie and uses lots of ribbon!!!

Maggie made this Christmas Monkey - he is a sock monkey!!! I know he is going to be popular, I put him on the side after I photographed him, went to set up the next card and monkey had gone... just disappeared.  I found him giving Sam a cuddle.  Sam is my little nephew.

Margaret said she was going to try something different for this challenge - using 20 different ribbons on 1 card fits the bill!!!

This card is also different Margaret - the card is made from acetate with a very touchable (oh it's gorgeous) vellum insert, the wording is raised. The snowman ribbon has then been layered onto card and stuck to the front of the card...... ummmmm I like!!

Two little tags or they could be ATC's.

Margaret I think you achieved your goal.  You can see all the way through this card.  The snow on the tree is almost like ice with a twinkle!

Marjorie has been in every challenge we have launched, she thought Challenge # 7 was the best, but I think she has changed her mind to # 8!!

Flicking through a magazine last year she came across our Gingerbread ribbon, she ordered a roll, started following our new blog and she got hooked!!

When Marjorie received the email to say she was on our first ever Ribbon Challenge she panicked!!! She thought her cards were not good enough. Marjorie your cards are wonderful we love them.

Perfect.

Marjorie this is my favorite card, the colours just shout christmas.  I would be over the moon to receive this card.

Tracey and Paul have also been on every one of our challenges.  Tracey found us while trying to find a box to put her ribbons in.  She came across our ribbonboxes and has been hooked since!! I love the way the ribbons have been put onto white card then mounted onto the bright red, it really makes the ribbons stand out.

I don't normally know which card is made by Tracey and which one is made by Paul.  BUT this time I do.  Paul made this card above, it's huge, I had to add extra boxes to my back drop!!  It uses 8 different ribbons and is wicked.

If you missed the first batch of goodies from ribbon Challenge # 8 you can see them HERE.  Part of this challenge was to decorate the sleeve of the selection box, these I will share with you next week.

I started writing this post at just gone 10 this morning, it's taken me a little while.  Not sure whether it will appear before or after Friday Freebies, (Will have to wait and see!)  but I am having so much fun reading your comments, you are all so kind.  I love my ribbons, I love playing with ribbons, I love sharing my ribbons... that's me!

Have a great weekend, Tony and I are off to Salcombe in Devon tomorrow.  I have a new toy for my camera, and I want to have a play with it.  So thought taking pictures  of boats would be fun, assuming it does not rain!

Slender and Gorgeous

10/09/2009

We all want to be slender and gorgeous, well our NEW Sheer Ribbons are just that.

At just 3mm wide we believe these are the ultimate in narrow sheer ribbons.  A gem to work with, they tie beautiful bows, and with 60 colours in the range it makes this a must have collection!!

Check out the blog tomorrow and learn how you could win this NEW Collection!!

It has taken me all week to catch up with myself after our holiday, but I am there. Yippee!!! Sooooooo........ Tomorrow is fun day!!  I get to photograph Ribbon Challenge # 8 and we have some cracking projects and cards to show you. So that is another reason for checking out the blog tomorrow!!

My little angel came to see me after her first day at school, she looked so tired when she turned up.  But a quick sugar intake from some sweeties, and I had her dancing around the car park.

Till tomorrow....
