8 Days of Christmas
20/10/2012
I did some ribbon embroidery last night! Not sure if I can put this on the blog but I have had a "sod it" week.
Fed up of resting my hand, fed up of the pain, fed up of the meds, fed up of having a head full of ideas.
On Monday I told Tony I was going to have a "sod it" week and do everything I wanted to do,
so I have been ribbon embroidering.
I only wish I could show you last nights design, it is wicked - a type of blackwork but in ribbon.
It is for a new kit, so unless I sell out in Paris it will go on the site later this year.
I must say I have had fun this week............tee hee.......
On to todays Vintage Christmas gift idea from a different Laura than yesterday.
A wicked idea Laura, just perfect for that little gift. The little gingerbread cookie cutter colour is a perfect match to the ribbon.
Laura used the Gingerbread Vintage Christmas ribbon here

There is a Friday FREEBIE post this week, you could win a bumper Bev's bag, just by leaving a comment.
Read the post below.
Ooooh what idea shall I embroider today?
9 Days of Christmas
19/10/2012
Christmas is definitely coming, our orders are increasing and our little team is starting to feel the strain...........
........BUT we LOVE IT!
How could you not LOVE handling this gorgeous ribbon all day. We had a new team member start about 4 weeks ago and
yesterday she confessed to us, that she felt as if it was not a "proper" job, she loves it too much!!
Today's display of talent with ribbon comes from Laura.
I have never seen anything like this Laura, I am in awe of you.
Fantastic cutting skills Laura.
I believe that Laura has used the Town House, Toy Train and Gingerbread ribbon. The tree and the parcel are both on the Gingerbread ribbon.

Who is going dotty?
09/10/2012
Syd helped me pick the winner of our White with red dot ribbons as I had helped her with her home work! It has been a while since I last did home work. But as I am on another crafting ban (thumb and hand has flared up again), I thought helping Syd would be fun. She had to make a round house, boy did we make a mess of the bunnies straw!!!
Sydney proudly showing off her crafted round house, she also has the winners number............
Number 24 = Mary
Hello All,
Great new dotty ribbon so would love a chance to win some. It would look lovely on Christmas cards. My vintage ribbon order is already disappearing fast on my growing pile of Christmas cards. I may have to buy some more just to keep to look at!
Mary x
Congratulations Mary, hope you are happy to go dotty! Please send your address details to craftyribbons@gmail.com. Thank you to everyone that left us a super comment, much read and loved.
If all goes to plan Tony and I will be leaving for London today. Stand is already just needs loading onto the van. We are off to Ally Pally this week, stand is bursting with stock so we are hoping lots of you will be coming to see us.
I have not pre written any posts so today is also Friday FREEBIE day, I like to confuse.......... Do you want to know what is the most popular ribbon from our Exclusive range this year? So much so that we have already had to make a re-order and re print it...................
We can not believe it, this ribbon was just a throw away idea at the end of one of the design meetings.............we have some red on the exhibition stand for Ally Pally but not a lot. If you would like to secure yourself some of these FAB No.1 ribbons then leave us a comment.
That's me done for today, have a fantastic week, I will be back next Tuesday with the winner of these ribbons.

White with red
05/10/2012
You asked for it, we got it for you!! White grosgrain ribbon printed with red swiss dots. This is not a stock colour from our manufacturer so we had it printed specially for you. It has only gone onto the website this morning, it arrived in mid August and we have already sold 25% of the stock............word got around that Crafty Ribbons had White with Red!!
You can find this charming ribbon here, or you could leave us a comment below for a chance to win a selection of our White with Red dotty ribbon, we have grosgrain, sheer and wire edge ribbons.........ooooh so many dots.
So onto a little bit of inspiration from our Candy Stitch challengers
How clever Alyson to thread the ribbon through the card, very effective.
Perfect for the musical type Alyson.
Ooooh Alyson I think this is a charming card, very elegant.
You do seem to like the soft mellow colours Alyson, the lemon and lime juice works so well on this card.
Sue has teamed up the lime juice ribbon with blue on her card. Ribbon weaving is such a classic Sue, and so delightful. Your backing paper is a super match to the ribbons. I took my ribbon woven heart bag that I made for our DVD to Exeter. First time it has been seen in "real live" caused quite a stir, shame I forgot to take one of the ribbons to make it!!!
Dramtic Sue. I LOVE this colour combo, totally stunning.
Thank you Alyson and Sue for your crafty ribbon creations, super work.
Have a fab weekend everyone, do not forget to leave a comment for a wonderful bag of red dottyness (is that a word?)!

I got told off.......
03/10/2012
..........oh yes I did. I went to Exeter without our NEW Candy Saddle Stitch ribbon. Sorry................
As I explained to the unhappy customer, we have so many ribbons, that it is hard to decide what to take to the shows. But Rachie and I put it right yesterday, we re-jigged the exhibtion stand and now we have ALL the Candy Stitch ribbons in place ready for Ally Pally - The Knitting ans Stitching Show next week. And............................ there will be a new Candy Stitch display on the back wall of the stand, sharing your challenge creations.
Here is another selection of creations from our ribbon Challengers.
I can tell you Laura there was one very chuffed person in the warehouse when I presented this to her. Stunning notebook.
Mobiles are very "on trend" at the moment Laura, and this will look stunning hanging on my exhibtion stand next week.
Sharon I have to hide your cards from Rachie, and this one is stunning. Your stitching is soooooooo neat!
Very ingenious Mel, I love the woven flower grove and as for the saddle stitch flowers - wicked.
I could not believe this was worked in ribbon when i first saw it Andrea - it is a work of art.
My final temptation of the day comes from Sue with her tasty cupcake and woven purse. A brilliant use of ribbons Sue.
Thank you all for your wonderful creations, please accept my apologies for not showing them sooner. I do still have more and plan on sharing them this week, before I work on the Vintage creations!
Have a great day everyone, I have to stock take our swiss dots. Either we have sold an awful lot or we have a dot thief in the warehouse!!
Exeter was a blast!
02/10/2012
Hold your ears eveyone I am about to shout........."THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT CAME TO VISIT US IN EXETER" you made it an amazing show.
Crafty Ribbons had not attended a retail show since March, and we really did not know what to expect in these hard times. On the Wednesday (setup day) we were hearing horror stories of the shows being between 30 to 60% DOWN!!! WOW that would hurt. We got told not to expect a busy time - oh dear all that work and effort from the team they would be devastated.
The doors opened at 9.30am and the customers poured in. We made our first sale at 9.35 and we did not stop!! We sold out of the NEW Vintage Tree Ribbon and the Vintage Little Houses during the first day. We had another supply in the lorry but we were too busy for Tony to leave to go and get it. We have NEVER sold out of a whole peg of ribbon in one day before, let alone two designs.
You LOVED all our ribbons and buttons and for that we truly thank you. By Sunday morning the stand was looking rather ransacked, but by spreading the ribbons around a bit we hope we gave our Sunday customers a good showing. When I caught up with Facebook last night and clicked on a link from Jo and her daughter, both Sunday customers and blog followers, it made my day. Have a read here.
Bev could not bring herself to look at the empty stand yesterday, deciding to attack the pile of internet orders from the weekend first. She is going to have rather a shock this morning. You may even hear her screams!!!
I have been busy sending out all the prizes from our masssive Exclusive ribbon launch today, so fingers crossed they should be with you tomorrow. Mollie and Sam helped me pick the winner of this weeks Friday FREEBIE from last Tuesday!!
The winners are.........
Number 3 = Leslie
Well done everyone! I hope Exeter goes really well Ali - I'm sure the new ribbons will go down a storm. I can't blame medication as an excuse for my forgetfulness, only being a certain age and a busy life but hey!!
Love the new Bev's bag and thanks for the chance to win.
Leslie x

Liz x

Congratulations ladies! These are all such beautiful and unique ribbons
Sounds like the medication you have is pretty potent! I hope that even though it's affecting your memory that it is at least doing it's job for the pain It must be nice to have the medication to blame - I just seem to go through phases or being forgetful with no good reason for it!
Will the lucky girls please email me their address to craftyribbons@gmail.com to claim their prize. Thank you to everyone that left us a comment, we love all your comments.
Have an enjoyable evening, I have a wicker garland, silver bells. red ribbon and our exclusive jingle bells ribbon, laid out on my carpet.........I have an idea!!!!

That is the most rewarding achievement for me.
Please can all the winners contact us by Monday 1st October and we will send all the prizes out in one go on the Tuesday.
To claim your prize please email us at craftyribbons@gmail.com
Laura with her idea -
These would work well as decorations in a vintage-y Christmas scrapbook mini album. I'm thinking layering, tabs to turn the pages, some sort of stamp opening/closing clasp...
This is why I love Crafty Ribbons - you just don't get ribbon as inventive as this anywhere else!
~*~
Carole Lockhart Stuart with her idea -
Hi Ali, I have Rudolf and the other reindeer digi`s by Meljiens Digi`s also ohter Christmas digis byt her. I want to make a concertina card using all the images and linking them together. This ribbon is just what I have been "dreaming of" I thiink it would make my project just perfect. Have a nice day all. love Carole Lockhart Stuart XXX
~*~
Julie with her idea -
I'd use this to make tree decorations for the two babies I know who will celebrating their first Christmas this year, or maybe decorate bibs for them.
~*~
Karen Jones - with her yummy idea
Think I'd use the snowman ribbon to go round my Christmas Cake, covered in black sugar paste with little white snowmen playing snowballs with a touch of edible glitter..........different!!
~*~
Marjorie Smith with her card idea
Hi Ali,I would use these gorgeous ribbons, as the focal point on my cards. You wouldn't need much else with them. They 'speak' for themselves. Well done for the design, you are soooo clever Ali.
Good luck to all, it will be a VERY lucky person who wins these baauties. Hugs Marjorie. x x
~*~
Claire Boelema with her sweetie idea -
Too cute!! I think my bank manager will most definitely be having words with you! I think I'd use this ribbon to decorate a jar of Cadbury's Snowballs
~*~
Joanne Edwards with her different wrapped parcels -
These are scrummy. I spotted them on Facebook a few minutes ago, before I had got my new blog post e-mail alert, and I came straight over to see them This is definitely going to be a part of my one of my children's gift wrapping. (we do them all a different design, so we know whose is whose under the tree without labelling them all!) Only 98 days now until Christmas...:-D
~*~
Cazzy with so many ideas!
They are beautiful and you could do so much with them, would love to make something to keep and use every year, maybe a Christmas cushion, or the aprons I keep thinking of! Then again they would make a wonderful keepsake box, or a Christmas card box to store cards in, or give a load of hand made cards as a present to someone to use.
Cazzy x

WOW that was a lot of Freebie ribbons, I loved reading all your ideas, my mojo has been flagging a bit of late. But I can feel a spark of inspiration from your ideas growing. Thank you all so much for leaving your ideas and comments, I hope that some of them turn into reality.
Lots of Challenge parcels have arrived, so I will have great pleasure, opening and admiring them today. I have left the front of the exhibtion display empty ready for your creations. We leave for Exeter Westpoint tomorrow morning, rather excited about showing everyone our new ribbons!!!!
Before I leave you for the week, (sorry have not pre-written any posts, Tony surprised with a trip to Lymington at the weekend. It would have been rude to decline to write blog posts!!!!), but I must tell you about.....
Bev has a NEW Ribbon Bag - just in time for Halloween!! You can find it here
I missed out on Friday FREEBIE last week, I am not sure if I should confess why.......oh you will only laugh.
I am still on heavy medication for my thumb, they make me rather weird (nice weird) and incredibly forgetful - I forget what I am talking about part way through a conversation!!
well...............I forgot it was Friday!!!!
If you can forgive me for my lack of concentration (go on laugh) and can leave me a comment, then we will have this weeks Friday FREEBIE of 4 Bev's bags - today and announce the winner next Tuesday. If you are on my wave length then you will totally understand all that!!!!
Have a great week everyone and wish us luck with our first exhibtion of the Autumn Season.
