Ribbon Challenge # 28 first goodies
24/07/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/7/karen+1.JPG)
When I opened the first envelope from the ribbon challenge yesterday, I was blown away. Look at this beautiful card made by Karen. The way Karen has used the ribbon to enhance her card is just awesome, not just as a trim but to create the card.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/7/karen+2.JPG)
This was the second card I pulled from the envelope - what can I say. I think I should let the card do the talking.
Pure genius Karen - Thank You.

Cazzy x
Beach huts, Deckchairs and Camper Vans are all yours Cazzy - please email us at craftyribbons@gmail.com with your address. Thanks to everyone that left wonderful comments. Not as many comments as normal this week, all we can hope is that everyone was out enjoying the sun.
Photo above - please excuse the mess in the background, the little guys had been crafting most of the day in my room. No crafting tomorrow until it is all tidy Syney and Sam. Bev wanted me to tell you that Sydney was not turning into a smurf, but the ice cream van had made a visit and Syd had just licked her way through a bubble gum (looked more like anti-freeze) lollie!!!
I had a totally fab day opening ALL the challenge goodies. WOW you guys blow my mind away with your creations, I will start to share tomorrow.

Have a fab evening.

Challenge blog - Summer Holiday
18/07/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/10/challenge+banner.jpg)
Oooh it is my turn to host our new challenge over on our challenge blog here. My theme is
SUMMER/HOLIDAY/BEACH
I love the sea and everything to do with holidays - the beach, boats, rocks, the smell of wet sand. I can not think of anything better than taking a stroll along the beach, mostly in the rain this year! I hope you will enjoy crafting with my new theme for this challenge.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/7/boat+card+500.jpg)
I made this card just from ribbon - ribbon sails, ribbon hull, a ribbon flag and not forgetting the ric rac waves!!! It still amazes me what you can do with ribbon and a little imagination. I hope you will join in with my new challenge, all my fab teamies have made some super cards to give you some extra imagination. Check them out here.
There is a prize for one lucky winner, and that will be a WANT IT ALL from our NEW Beach Hut Collection of ribbons - you can find them here.

A big thank you to everyone that joined in with the last challenge, a super array of creations.

You know that somebody wants you do do something when they add extra e's to the word please! "Ali pleeeeeeease can you print me some ribbon"
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/7/thank+you+love+sam+copy.jpg)
Bev had got these Thank you chocolates from a well known choccy shop but wanted them to be a little extra special.
I simply printed Thank you love Sam onto our red satin ribbon, no teacher will forget you gave them those! We can pint almost anything onto ribbon - find out more here.
It was a very special day for Sam, he graduated from pre school on Tuesday. I was really chuffed to be invited to go and watch and of course take my camera.

Number 18 = Mary
Hello All,
What great ribbons for 'the boys'. Would love to win them.
Have a relaxing weekend. Glad you enjoyed the visit of the Olympic torch.
Mary x
Congratulations Mary you have some awesome ribbon coming your way. Please can you email us your address to craftyribbons@gmail.com - we need to know where to send the NEE NAA's!!!
Thank you to everyone that took time to leave us a comment, I read them while in bed! I caught a gruesome Summer cold and it has made me feel rotten. I am not normally one for staying at home and going to bed, but I just could not do anything else. Back to work today, (since last Monday) still with a cough but feeling much better. Apologies for those of you that have sent in challenge parcels, they were on my to do list last week. I have a big pile of envelopes and boxes but as normal have not opened them until the camera is all ready. Thank you to everyone.
That's me for today, Happy Monday.

Friday FREEBIE - Broom, broom
13/07/2012
Ribbons, we have lots of ribbons, no make that hundreds of ribbons. Ribbons with fairies, ribbons with flowers, girlie ribbons but what about us boys?
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/7/header+for+cars+copy.jpg)
Sam and I think these are wicked! Only a small range of colours, they are printed onto a robust twill type ribbon. Wicked, wicked, wicked. Ali will be putting these onto the site today, when they are on you will find them here.
I think these will make a fab Friday FREEBIE prize, what do you think? Leave us a comment for your chance of winning a WANT IT ALL pack.
We had a fantastic morning yesterday watching the Olympic torch come through Blandford. We staked our claim to the footpath in front of Rachies house It was a beautiful morning, blue sky. Blandford did the torch bearers proud. After it passed us, we ran through the back alleys and managed to catch it again as it arrived in the market square. As the last bearer carried it around the corner out of Blandford, the heavens opened and we all got soaked walking home!!!! I am a bit of a cynic over these things, but when I over heard Sydney say to Ali " This is the best thing I have ever done" it brought me up short and made me think.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Hello wednesday - carry on teaching
11/07/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2010/6/hello+wednesday.png)
Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!
It is that time of year, term is nearly over and little prezzies are being made for teachers. Well I always thought the idea was to make something for teacher not for mum to tear her hair out trying to out do the next mum. Think maybe I am a little out of date!!!
This was my little idea, a simple card that a child could make!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/7/teacher+card+copy.jpg)
KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON TEACHING......... I used our pink ribbon for the femail teachers and the red for the male. Tony thinks I should have put a little dash before the teachers name, so that is down to you.
I just printed the names onto white card, used a corner punch to round the corners off. I wrapped the KEEP CALM Ribbon here around the card and tied a knot to hold it in place. Then stuck it to my base card - very simple.
Still raining in Blandford, we have the Olympic torch coming through tomorrow and the council are worried that they may have to change the route at the last minute due to the flood water. They had better NOT, the torch goes right past Rachie and Mollies house and we are all planning to take over her front garden. We even have the bunting ready!!!!
Take care all.

Beach huts or candy winner
09/07/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/7/photo+syd+1.jpg)
Number 21 = Sue
Hi Tony
Great news about Ali's hand you must both be so relieved
Think I would go for the candy saddle stitch its gorgeous although the beach hut ribbon would look nice on the Ark I am planning to build lol
Hope no one is badly affected by any floods
Sue xxx
Congratulations Sue you are our Friday FREEBIE winner. Please can you send your details to craftyribbons@gmail.com. Sue I must ask - is there any spare room on your Ark!! It was Dorset's turn to have the bad weather over the weekend. It was bad, I just could not believe there could be so much rain. The river Stour has burst it's banks and several roads are flooded, but we are ok. Weymouth has had a really bad time, many of the car parks planned for the Olympic parking are flooded - a bit of a headache for someone!
Thank you to everyone that left us a super comment, I didn't get around to putting the beach huts on the website on Friday. It will be a job for this week.
Take care all.
