Friday FREEBIE - beach huts or candy?

06/07/2012

It seems to have become a regular feature me writing the Friday FREEBIE post. I hear on the news this morning there are over 70 flood warnings out around the country, it is pleasantly dry here in Dorset (at the moment)  but we hope all our readers will be safe today.

Ali has so many NEW ribbons coming into the warehouse at the moment I just can not keep up.  She was messing about with some wheels yesterday!!!!  No idea, but she seemed rather pleased with herself.

I am going to make you pick your Friday FREEBIE prize for today, you can either have the new beach hut ribbons - they arrived in the warehouse yesterday so no doubt Ali will be putting them on the site today OR you can select the NEW Candy Saddle Stitch ribbons.....................

............ which ones will you pick - beach huts or candy?  Leave us a comment and we will pick a winner from our "Bingo" Bag on Monday.

On a little encouraging note, we had a very good meeting with the hand specislist yesterday. Ali has damaged herself, but the consultant has reassured her it can be fixed and she will be able to embroider again.  Thank you for your wonderful emails and comments, they did give her a boost.

Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.

Tony (not so worried today)

Challenge blog - photo inspiration

04/07/2012

Mandy has come up with a new idea for a challenge this time - photo inspiration.  We had to design something around this image.

PHOTO INSPIRATION

Oooooh this is something new for me.  Here goes.....................

................did I do OK?

Yes, yes this ribbon is NEW - due into the warehouse today.  I loved the ribbons so much when the sample cards arrived, that I pulled off all the samples and used them on my card.  They will be going on the site once I have something to photograph!!!

Thank you to everyone that took part in the last challenge, it was great to see so many entries.  Carol must have had a hard time picking her top three. If you fancy joining in with todays challenge then click here .  The prize up for grabs is the NEW Candy Saddle Stitch - WANT IT ALL pack.

Our design team once again have been ooozing inspiration - so check out their creations.

Have a fun day.

Hello wednesday - in love with saddle stitch

04/07/2012

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

I have a big pile of envelopes and boxes in my craft room upstairs, all for the current challenge - saddle stitch.  But before I open them, and start photographing all the wonderful goodies, I thought I should have a play with the ribbons.

I did some stamping!!! Well only the love words - I did get told that I was not doing it correctly "That's not right Ali" and "you should share Ali".  Mollie wanted a go with my ink pads!!

A very simple card, stamped message, mat and layering, strip of ribbon, simple hand tied bow and some faux stitching.  I used these wonderful NEW and EXCLUSIVE ribbons.........

............Candy Saddle Stitch ribbons, 14 different colours to the range. Perfect to add a little touch to a simple card, you can find them all here.

I feel as if I should apologise for only making cards for the Hello wednesday ideas of late.  I am still having problems with my thumb, it has now got to the stage where it makes me feel sick from the pain when I use it.  I am seeing someone new tomorrow, but as you can imagine crafting is not much fun at the moment.

Anyway, I hope you like my card, I think I am getting a little better at making them!

29/06/2012

Rain, rain go away...................

Oh will it ever stop. One minute drought the next severe flooding. I do hope that all of you reading this in the severe problem areas have not been too badly affected.

I thought that these little ribbons would be very apt for our Friday FREEBIE prize.  A 'Want it all' of umbrella ribbon. It just seemed to fit the bill. All you have to do is to leave us a comment and on Monday we will pick the winner from our Bingo bag.

You all know that Ali has been working for sometime on our NEW Christmas ribbons for this year - where she plans on putting them I have no idea!!!  Maybe she has a new warehouse on her agenda - you just never know what Ali has up her sleeve.

From reading your comments last week, I realised that Ali was not the only one thinking of Christmas - so how about grabbing some bargains this weekend.  We have reduced lots of our £1 Christmas ribbons down to 30p per metre, that's more then 50% off.  If you fancy having a rummage in our Christmas Bargain Basket then click here.

Like with all GOOD GENUINE SALES , stock is limited and when it is gone - it is gone for ever!

We all hope you have a special weekend and the rain eases.

Hello wednesday - French roses

27/06/2012

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

Hi everyone, we had a ribbon delivery this morning and I just had to dive in!!  Only a small box but the contents were divine.

Beryl one of our blog readers first brought this type of ribbon/trim to my attention and I have been searching for it ever since.

The roses are made from a narrow strip of chiffon and sewn to a net backing.  This ribbon is very scrummy, there are only 4 colours to the range.  I photographed them this morning..............but to be honest I am not sure i can bear to part with them.  Maybe after a few more squishes and strokes i will put them on the site.

The colours team up perfectly with our French saddle stitch Joyeux Anniversaire ribbon here.

I have now added this scrummy ribbon to the website, you can find it  here.  But sadly it is not cheap, but then it is French!

Sue xxx

Number 34 = Monica
Just find this wonderful website- placed my first order. Pleased with the service. Thanks

Well done Sue and Monica, we hope you do not go too loopy with this new ribbon!!  Please email us your details to craftyribbons@gmail.com

Thanks to everyone that left fab comments, please do not feel too sorry for Tony (Mr Lonely)! I had come up with this fab idea and I just had to finish it and that meant working through the night, so yes I had been stolen by Mr Snowman and Mr Christmas.

Think it was well worth all the extra time I spent on the Christmas ribbons.  We had our final Christmas selection meeting this morning and all the designs have gone through to the next stage with the factory.  So none of my toys were thrown on the floor this morning.  It was a very good meeting, I wish I could share the new designs with you but............."TOP SECRET" as you know!!!

We have a wonderful balmy evening, I am off to bake a cake.  A promise I made to Tony for making him feel lonely.

Friday FREEBIE - Loopy loo

22/06/2012

Good morning to you all. Apologies for the delay in posting this weeks friday freebie. We have had so much rain here that I think it has got into our internet connection, sometimes it works sometimes not.

Plus it is down to me to write and post it. Ali spent all night thinking of men. But not me unfortunately. Mr Snowman and Mr Christmas kept her up last night, so much so that she had to get up and continue with her designs. She is still at it. As it is top secret all I can tell you is that you are in for a real treat. She has really excelled herself - as usual I might add.

A loopy prize for todays friday freebie. Two sets of 'want it all' If you can leave a comment then please do and we will pick the two lucky winners on monday from our Bingo Bag.

Hopefully the weather will get better this weekend - we can but dream. I will be trying to prize Ali away from her new men and plan to take her out and spoil her.

Have a fantastic weekend all.

Kind Regards

Mr Lonely (Tony)

Challenge blog - Clean and simple

21/06/2012

Time for a new challenge over on our Challenge blog.  Carol is hosting the new challenge and she has picked the theme

CLEAN AND SIMPLE CARDS

Now this is my thing Carol, I can do this!!! But before I show you my creation I would like to thank everyone that joins in with our Challenges. How everyone makes so many different cards and creations from the same theme is just overwhelming.  So a HUGE THANK YOU from Crafty Ribbons and the Design team Girls.

You can not get much more clean and simple then this!  I used our Happy Birthday saddle stitch ribbon here to make a banner style message.  I wrapped the red grosgrain ribbon here around the cream card sleeve and tied a bow.  I cut the ribbon tails with a very sharp pair of scissors to create a clean cut.

We would love you to join in with our NEW Challenge, just follow the instructions on our Challenge blog here and you could win a prize! A Bev's NEW Ribbon Bag - Teddy Bear Picnic.

spring ribbons

The design girls have come up with some super inspiration for you, so check out all their ideas.

Off to upload the loop cord I promised yesterday - the Christmas meeting went on much longer then we had planned yesterday.    Ummmm............ yes a few toys were thrown on the floor, but the Christmas Collection is coming together.  ALL constructive comments have been taken on board - so much so I had trouble sleeping last night.  I had snowmen, stars and ribbons disturbing me most of the night so I got up!!!

Have fun everyone, think of me struggling with my naughty snowmen!!

Hello wednesday - loopy cord

20/06/2012

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

Hello everyone, I got a bit side tracked this morning.  I started writing this post then I got an idea for a NEW Christmas design.....................well I got somewhat side tracked!!  I am a little late designing our Christmas ribbons this year, we had the Best of British event which took up a lot of time and then..........the weather was horrid, lost my mojo.............need I say more.

We have a super guest designer for todays hello wednesday idea.  Laura came to visit us a couple of weeks back (on a really horrid rainy day).  She and her parents were holidaying in the area and could not resist the chance to come and say hi. Laura has joined in with many of our ribbon challenges and has been an avid blog follower.

I have a huge selection of ribbons that I have just not found the time to put onto our website, during our recent re-organising we removed these ribbons to one area of the warehouse (OMG I must do something about this!)  The ribbons Laura used on todays project came from this "unloved" pile of ribbons.

Laura has turned our loopy cord into this stunning necklace.  The seed bead loops and drop crystals make this an enchanting piece of jewellery.  A super imaginative creation Laura, and you have spurred me on to photograph these little loopy cords.

All the colours will be going on the site today - when they are on you will find them here.

Laura brought me a prezzie when she came to the warehouse, I like prezzies and this was soooooo sweet..............

.............the picture makes it look huge, but it is tiny.  I just wanted you to see all the detail. Laura you are one very talented designer and thank you for allowing me to use your creations today.

Now wish me luck in the meeting, I ask ALL the team to be truthful with my ideas, if they feel they can be changed, altered or if they need redesigning in any way I want them to say so.  We need to know that they are perfect BEFORE going to print.  Only one little problem with this................I hate having my designs pulled apart, I get into a right stomp, throw all my toys out of the pram and normally sulk all afternoon!!!!!

I do take on board everyones comments............and end up designing better ribbbons........................but!
