![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/crafty+indeviduals.png)
As you know stamping is not my forte.................but maybe I could get hooked. What do you think..................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/butterflies+copy.jpg)
..............a super image that I teamed up with the butterfly ribbon here and the rainbow stripe ribbon here. I thought they were a perfect match. A little bit of matting and layering and I was done, I am beginning to enjoy this stamping game!
Crafty Individuals have given us a totally stunning prize - 5 yes I did say 5 sets of their stamps, awesome. You should all know what to do, but just in case... For a chance to win you have to leave your details on our Inspiration blog here. (We would love you to leave a comment with us as well, but for a chance of the prize it must be on the blog below.)
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/inspiration+blog+header.jpg)
You all liked the cupcakes that I shared with you on Saturday made by our Basingstoke crafters, today I have another one of their creations. I do admire this, but have never had a try myself.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/candle.jpg)
This candle is just wicked girls, the little soldier is so cool, but of course it is the ribbon that makes it!!!! You can find the tri-stripe here. Once again thanks for your photos, if anyone has a photo that uses our best of British Ribbon and would like to share it here on our blog, then please email it to craftyribbons@gmail.com and I will try and include it.
DO NOT FORGET if you want those stamps then go and leave your details on our Inspiration blog here. While there have a browse at all the Design Team Inspiration.

Best of British Day 3 - KEEP CALM
19/05/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/day+3.jpg)
Whooooeee day 3 is here, huge thanks to everyone that is joining in with our Best of British event. We are having great fun reading all your wonderful comments on all the DT girls blogs.
We have a super duper sponsor for today........................how long can I keep you guessing..................it is?
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/website+header+600.jpg)
What can I say about Crafty Ribbons that you do not already know. We do have a truly scrumptious prize for one lucky winner. These ribbons are BRAND SPANKING NEW, as far as we know there are no others like it anywhere........
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/3340+keep+calm+square+400.jpg)
Crafty Ribbons prize for today is a bundle of these KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON Ribbons. For a chance to win you have to leave your details on our Inspiration blog here. (We would love you to leave a comment with us as well, but for a chance of the prize it must be on the blog below.)
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/inspiration+blog+header.jpg)
The KEEP CALM Ribbons only arrived with us on Friday, they took a little detour to Germany for a few days. The consignment was 8 huge boxes, 2 arrived earlier in the week (stock ribbons), but according to the courier the other 6 boxes had all split open and had to be sent to Germany to be re-sealed!! Not sure which scared me more, the ribbons would not arrive in time for todays prize OR my beautiful NEW ribbons were being touched by others!!
All was well, it was only 2 boxes that were damaged, but ALL the ribbons were fine.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/keep+calm+card1+copy.jpg)
I have been itching to get my hands on these ribbons - 3 colours red, purple and pink and..........................you can find them here. Be one of the first crafters in the country to craft with these KEEP CALM ribbons - only 5 people have these ribbons at the moment!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/keep+calm+cushion2+copy.jpg)
I used buttons from the NEW Vintage button box here. I had the pearly Kings and Queens in mind when I planned the cushion - you can not get more British than them!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/keep+calm+cushion1+copy.jpg)
The crown I cut from cream felt and hand stitched around the outside with plain running stitches. The red buttons came from our Christmas button box here.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/keep+calm+cushion+KE1+copy.jpg)
I have been working on this cushion for weeks, my poor thumb really complained at sewing the buttons on. Some evenings I only managed to sew four or five on!! When it was finished I proudly held it up to Tony - only to be told the letters were not straight. Yes they are I grumbled, its the shape of the cushion!!!
If you want those ribbons then go and leave your details on our Inspiration blog here. The Design Team have made another super array of goodies, all for your INSPIRATION.

![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/mulberry+crafts.png)
I have been a playing again, this is really fun for me as I have been using crafting goodies that are way out side of my comfort zone. The girls have hardly seen me all week - for some strange reason they have not complained, although Sydney came up to my craft room this afternoon and declared "Ali what a mess". Maybe a little tiny bit of tidying needs to go on this weekend.
But from the mess I did create this.................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/mulberry+flower+card+500.png)
..............I can hear you all about to start tutting me................we had a delivery of BRAND NEW Ribbons yesterday................well I just had to check them in................and look these two large polka dot ones found their way up to my craft room. It would have been rude not to use them! Sorry they are not on the website yet, but the happy Birthday saddle stitch can be found here, the little love tag was made from this ribbon here AND is in our Bargain Basket reduced to 30p for 2 mtrs, lots of different colours can be found here - get in there quick.
With the few flowers I had left over I made this...............
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/mulberry+flower+bird+house+500.png)

Best of British Day 1 - Queen of Hearts
17/05/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/Day+1.jpg)
Today is the start of our BEST of BRITISH event, 16 days of pure crafting inspiration, fun and not forgetting fab prizes everyday.
Our first sponsor is Which Craft?

![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/whichcraft.png)
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/whichcraft+event.jpg)
Paula from Which Craft sent the DT some samples to play with, boy did I have fun! My only form of card making has been a single fold card - simple, but I had all these odd looking shaped bits of card to use. Oooh err, it got my mind a racing, a quick visit to their website here and I had the cards all folded, ready to decorate.
Look what I made....................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/lg+queen+of+hearts+500.jpg)
..................from a card blank, ribbon and a few bits of thread. Ribbon embroidery has sort of passed me by for a while, and this was a perfect time for it to pop back onto my crafting radar!!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/queen+of+heart+embroidery+300+units.png)
I simply cut out a heart shape from paper, pinned it to the fabric and sewed around the shape. Using 10mm sheer ribbon here I then simply filled the heart with ribbon stitch flowers. We have a video clip that can be downloaded to show you how to make the flowers here. The other ribbons can be found in our Best of British section here.
These card blanks are totally fab and I really enjoyed working with them. Paula from Which Craft has given us a super prize for one lucky follower. For a chance to win you have to leave your details on our Inspiration blog here. (We would love you to leave a comment with us as well, but for a chance of the prize it must be on the blog below.)
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/inspiration+blog+header.jpg)
While you are there look at all the other creations made by our fab Design Team - you will leave bursting with Inspiration.
Remember to check back everyday, a different sponsor each day with a different prize, you can enter everyday.

When we came across these little mini dotty buttons we all went ahhhhh! Mollie even called them "Baby ones". They are sooooooo sweet and measure about 12mm roughly the size of a 5p coin.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/mini+button+card+copy.jpg)
They are just perfect for the centre of small flowers. We have added this size to all the spotty buttons here.
We have also added two NEW colours, white buttons with either red spots or black spots. We have been after these ones for ages!
Dont forget we start our mega.......................

Apologies for not posting the winners details yesterday, life just got in the way of blogging!
Sydney picked the winners for me, she came home from school bursting with energy wanting to make a pair of bat wings! You can not see them very well in the photo but they are there, hence the card ringlets around her waist.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/blog++3+27.JPG)

Todays Challenge goodies are from Dorothy, I think Dorothy has joined us on every challenge and she always makes oodles of super creations. Plenty of inspiration to share.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/dorothy+1.JPG)
First creation is this charming little baby crib, decorated with our baby washing line ribbon, the baby inside has matching blankets.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/dorothy+2.JPG)
The crib arrived on it's own carrier, a work of art in itself Dorothy.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/dorothy+3.JPG)
Dorothy has made me several of these book style cards for different challenges, they are always charming and packed with exquisite decoration. I love the little doylies Dorothy.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/dorothy+4.JPG)
Oooh you do like testing my photography skills Dorothy, this reflective card is always a challenge for me. A beautiful colour, it is like an iris irridescent depending on the light.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/dorothy+5.JPG)
This card is delightful Dorothy, I love the rocker you have created, and the way you have carefully cut out the little clothes from the ribbon.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/dorothy+6.JPG)
What a treasure chest of a card, everytime I look at this card Dorothy I see something different, very clever.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/dorothy+7.JPG)
Not sure what the correct name is for this type of card (someone please tell me), it is like a decoupage window. I love the way you have matched the bears bows with her hat, very classy.
Thank you Dorothy for all your delightful creations, I always enjoy opening your challenge parcels, just like a pandoras box! I know it is a while since you crafted with these ribbons, but I do hope you enjoyed them.
I hope you all have a crafty day.

Flower buttons - these buttons are super to work with and are due back into stock today. You will find them here. I wanted to created a fun girly card, and as you know I have been re-organising the ribbon shelves and came across lots of ribbons that I had forgotten about. These little Crafty Fairy ribbons were one such collection, you can find them here.
The Fairy bow can be removed from the card as it is a hair bow with a hair clip attached. The hair bows are one of the projects on our NEW DVD here or you can just download the hair Bow clip here. They really are very easy to make and great fun - a card and a gift in one.

![](/docs/blogfiles/2010/6/hello+wednesday.png)
Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!
My friend Leigh is to become a grandma for the first time later in the year and she has been knitting like crazy!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/5/hello+wednesday+baby+booties+copy.jpg)
She sent me these, and I went all gooey!!! I love baby booties, they look so sweet.
Leigh combined our NEW Baby washing line ribbons (here) and our dotty buttons (here) to make her creations. You do not want these back, do you Leigh?!
I am in BIG trouble, remember last week I said I was having a sort out of the ribbons.............re-organising the shelves. The girls can not find anything!!!! Up and down the aisles they are walking, searching for the ribbons that used to be there.
But there is a bonus..........I have put a lot of ribbons into the Bargain Basket area of the website here. All are reduced by at least 50%. Stocks are limited on some items, so have a peak if you get time soon.
Have a great day, rather wet again today, perfect for a craft room day!
