Hello wednesday - colour splash

13/06/2012

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

How many of us take pictures?  I do, I take hundreds - and not just of ribbon!  But what do you do with your photos?  Leave them on your camera card, show them to family or friends?

Here is a simple idea to use your photos.  I recently went to London for my birthday, and I was snapping away as normal and took loads of photos.  But I got rather sad that no one would enjoy them.  This is my favorite picture of the day.................

I turned the photo into black and white then repainted the telephone boxes red.  I printed the photo out onto glossy photo paper then added a couple of ribbons to match the telephone boxes.  The wide ribbon at the bottom is our cotton ribbon here and the With all my love ribbon is NEW and you can find it here.

My Dad would have loved this card - so Dad this is for you.

One extra winner!

11/06/2012

It has been raining all day here in Dorset and it is the last day of the childrens school holidays.

There was such a rush to help pick the winner from the "Bingo" from Sydney and Sam that I did not have the heart to say I only needed one number as there was only one winner!!!  So we have two winners.

Winner number 12 = Craftygranny
Wow fab ribbons and gorgeous colours.

Winner number 14 = Dorothy
A new challenge yippee love these lovely ribbons .what fab colours.
Dorothy

Not sure which one was the extra lucky winner but well done Craftygranny  and Dorothy.  We hope you can keep calm until the ribbons arrive, please email us your address to craftyribbons@gmail.com

Thank you to everyone that left us a super comment, it was great to read them all.  I was going to to use the NEW Summer Breeze ribbons, BUT my computer decided to die on me on Friday.  So while I was loading up all my software onto the new computer, I was having a play with ribbons at the same.

I do hope all our followers are safe and sound, this weather is awful.

Challenge blog - butterflies & bows

07/06/2012

Time for a new challenge over on our Challenge blog.  Gina is hosting the new challenge and she has picked the theme

BUTTERFLIES & BOWS

To be honest I am a little carded out, making cards does not come easliy to me and so I thought I thought I would do something different.  I have a friend with a birthday this week, and I know she keeps the ribbons from her prezzie, I could combine the two - prezzie wrapping and butterflies and bows.

I think there is nothing quite like crisp white grosgrain ribbon here.  It looks just so fresh and perfect.  To bring in the butterfly theme I used our blue butterfly ribbon here.   Thinking it looked rather plain for my friend, I made a few hovering butterflies!

I simply cut the butterflies from the ribbon and threaded on some craft wire.  To give them a kind of movement I twisted the wire around a lollipop stick to create a spring.

Our design team have made some super creations with butterflies and bows - check them out here.  Thank you to everyone that joined in with our last challenge and hope to see you back this time...................we do have a scrummy prize..................

If you are looking for some fresh, crisp ribbons to use on your summer crafting then do check out this NEW Range, it is being uploaded to the website today.  When it is live, you will find it here.  Some of you may have had some of these ribbons - Bev sneaked some of them into her last Bev's bag!

I received a wonderful email from Karen, a follower of this blog and also our NEW Inspiration blog.  She sent me photos of some of her creations she made for her children to celebrate the Jubilee.  A crown for each and a little card for them to remember the day.

A King for the day

Love the use of this ribbon Karen.

Great flags too.

Thank you so much for sharing these creations with us Karen.

Have a good day all.

Hello wednesday - this much........

06/06/2012

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

Seems a while since our last Hello wednesday.  Did you enjoy our BOB - Best of British event? I note that several of our regular followers won prizes.  If you have forgotten to check, then pop over to the Inspiration blog and have a look.

I have my friend Leigh to thank for making this card.  What a brilliant use of our tape measure ribbon.  I gave you a sneak peak of this ribbon when it arrived, but i forgot to put it onto the website.  I am pleased to say you can now find it here.  Yippee at last Ali!!!

I managed to catch up on a lot of photography work over the long weekend, so expect to find lots of NEW goodies coming your way!

Before I go for today, I must ask if you saw Kylies outfit for the Queens concert?

Buttons.............She made the ribbon belt famous several years back, so now it is the turn of the button.

Best of British Last Day!

02/06/2012

Today is the last day of our Best of British crafting event - boo hooo.  We have had so much fun showcasing all the different BRITISH craft companies in the country. Our last sponsor is Pink Gem

I decided to go out with a BIG RIBBON BANG on my card today, be warned it is a bit full on!

I did warn you.  The card is totally made from ribbon.  I used grosgrain in different widths here and our NEW red KEEP CALM and CARRY ON ribbon here.  We all think it looks fab.

I must admit it was the fab design from Pink Gems that got my brain thinking of the Union Jack design.  The little teddy is holding Union Jack Bunting and I thought I could mimic it in my card design. I used the satin ribbon here, but because it is made from satin it started to fray on me, so I just backed it onto double sided tape and then paper.  It was then easy to cut out the triangles.  I attached the triangles to a piece of black embroidery thread, tying a bow in one end (same as teddies).

Some of the girls from Pink Gems design team have also joined in with todays inspiration.  Find all the creations on our inspiration blog here , and DO NOT forget to enter your name for our last prize. I am sure you know what to do to enter for todays prize, leave your name on our Inspiration blog here.

We would love you to leave a comment with us as well, please let us know if you have enjoyed the event.  I would like to thank all the sponsors that have provided super prizes, our Design team girls for their stunning creations and regular postings.  And a mega thanks to Mandy for co-ordinating the event.

Finally another thank you to my Basingstoke girls Sharon, Lindsey, Mel and Andrea for sharing their Jubilee creations with us. It is wonderful to see what others do with our ribbons and I have had fun adding their creations to the blog.  Although sending us photos of cupcakes and choccies without samples.............we think is rather unfair!!!

Have a enjoyable weekend everyone, I still think this soldier ribbon is still my favourite.

A reminder of all the girls creations.

Best of British Day 15 - blowing bubbles

01/06/2012

Almost there! Our sponsor for today is

Lili of the valley has given us a super voucher for todays prize, Mandy sent me this coloured image for me to play with.  The colours were just perfect to go with our exclusive baby washing Ribbons.

I used one of the fantastic card blanks from Which Craft (sponsor from day 1). You will giggle - it took me ages to work out how to fold it!! Talk about the Kripton Factor. I teamed up the baby ribbons here with that of the sky country check here and I added a few of our spotty buttons here. I might have to get myself some of these card blanks, they do make interesting cards.

If you would like to try and win todays voucher from LOTV then you have to leave your details on our Inspiration blog here

Each days prize will ALL close on Sunday 3rd June so you still have time to enter your details.

Sharon and the girls have a few more goodies to share with you.......................mmmmmmmmm I can taste the sweetness of these chocs!

How wicked are those.  Are they choccy lollies or are they made candy cakes?  Bev brought some candy cakes into the office the other day.................yum.........yum...................yummmy!

Looks like Tattie's are enjoying them.  Another super idea girls, thanks again for sharing them.
