Hello wednesday - Easter bunny
04/04/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2010/6/hello+wednesday.png)
Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!
Nearly Easter, but still enough time to make a few Easter cards.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/4/easter+bunny+card+copy.jpg)
Pure and simply ribbons..........................How simple is that.
Easter bunny ribbon used for the tag can be found here, the Easter egg ribbon is here and in orange here. To finish the card I used our Fresh Stripe ribbon, you can find all the colours here.
No need to explain how it was made, I think you will all be able to work it out, it was that simple. Maybe you have finished all your Easter crafting so you can store this idea away for next year.
Tony and I are off out today, a very important day.
A meeting you may ask, or high level ribbon negociations?.............No silly...............we are going on a play day to Monkey World with our Grand daughter Nia, and Sydney. Not sure who is most excited, me I think..........I can not decide which camera to take so have had them all on charge this morning!!!
Just have fingers and toes crossed it does not snow.

Delivered in person
02/04/2012
Carol delivered these wonderful creations to me at the Hobbycraft show in Glasgow, a few weeks back. She told me that she only visited our blog after meeting with us for the first time the previous year, and has been following us ever since.
It was good to have a chat, and she could not resist buying one or two lengths of ribbon!!!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/4/carol+scrapbook.JPG)
This photo is of her son, but I gather he is no longer this small! I think this is a beautiful layout, the colours are all soft and muted.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/4/carol+lines.JPG)
The addition of the ribbon trim frames the scrap page, and the cross over detail is super.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/4/carol+scrap+clos.JPG)
I love this technique of cutting the ribbon and then adding it to the same ribbon - a form of decoupage. Very clever Carol.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/4/carol+card+tag.JPG)
Also in the bag Carol gave me was this delightful card and tag. I do like your style of bow Carol.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/4/carol+bow.JPG)
What a stunner.
Thank you for joining in with our challenge Carol, and thanks for coming to visit us. I still have lots and lots of goodies from this challenge to share.
Did you have fab weather over the weekend? It was a cracking day yesterday, it was also Rachies birthday and we had a party in the garden. A really fun day.
It was great to read that there are lots of Princesses and Princes around, small and large! Oh and a few feline ones, I recall.
Ummmmmm I go outside to find Mollie ..................and....................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/4/mollie+scooter.JPG)
...............she has attached ribbon to the back of her scooter...............and it is my EXCLUSIVE ribbon. I simply get told "It is my favorite Ali"................not a lot I can say.............So who wanted some of our NEW Ribbons, the decision is all down to our Mollie..............which number will she pick from the "Bingo" bag............
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/4/mollie+33.JPG)
Number 33 = Isla

Black and White and a dash of lime
29/03/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/10/challenge+banner.jpg)
I missed our last challenge over on our Ribbon Challenge blog here, I was away at the exhibitions and just ran out of time to make something, so this time I had my card all ready nice and early! This challenge is being hosted by Dawn and she has chosen the theme of........
Black and White and one other colour
Oooooh these design girls now how to challenge me, after a wander around the warehouse looking for black, white and pink ribbons I ascended the stairs to my craft room with a basket of black, white and LIME ribbons........where did that come from!!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/black+and+white+dash+lime+500.jpg)
Different! Made with nothing but ribbon. I loved the way you could see through the black sheer ribbons allowing the lime ones to shout "I'm here"! The design team have come up with some super creations, please do check them out here. Why not join in with the challenge, you could win one of Bev's NEW ribbon bags -Spring.
![](/docs/homepageslider/spring%202012.jpg)
Anne-Marie one of the winners of our Friday FREEBIE last week left a wonderful comment about Bev's NEW Ribbon Bag.
Seriously cute card, and has given me the germ of an idea...thanks!
I received my BEV'S BAG of ribbons this morning, and I'm blown away by all the prettiness....and hadn't realized what gorgeous texture is on some of them, too!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
We cannot get better praise than that - thanks Anne-Marie.
Another wonderful set of creations from Mel and Lindsey today from our Baby Washing Ribbon Challenge.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/mel+pram.JPG)
Mel this is soooo cute, I adore the little wheels, how clever is that.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/mel+baby+gro.JPG)
I am sure there are lots of decorated plain white baby grows in the Glasgow region. they totally loved this idea at the Hobbycraft show Mel. I had to take it down on the first day so that I could check whether you had stuck the ribbon on or sewn them!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/mel+hat.JPG)
Hats and booties makes me go all gooey, and this little matching hat is just perfect Mel.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/lindsey.JPG)
WOW Lindsey this is a work of art.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/lindsey+close.JPG)
As this card was hung just by our demo table I was constantly being asked if we had the cross stitchcard. On one occasion Lindsey was standing by me, when i was asked again - The chart can be found by searching on google, it comes with matching hand prints and is free!
Thank you Mel and Lindsey for your wonderful creations, hundreds have seen and loved them.
Another beautiful day in sunny Dorset, have fun all.

Hello wednesday - Easter eggs
28/03/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2010/6/hello+wednesday.png)
Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!
It would appear that Easter has sort of creeped up on me, it is NEXT weekend!!! Crikey - some serious Easter thinking has to be done.
Sydney had hurt her back at school yesterday and the only thing that would take the pain away was some crafting with Ali.....................I think a few porky pies were being told! But we had a few hours of playing with ribbons and buttons.................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/easger+eggs+copy.jpg)
..................this was my creation. Layered grosgrain ribbons in 6mm here and 10mm here widths stuck onto card using double sided tape. I then cut egg shapes in two different sizes. I had chosen the ribbons that would best match the NEW Alphabet buttons here, a few bits of embroidery thread brought the eggs and buttons to life.
I tried different coloured back ground paper and nothing seemed to work. I believed that this buff card makes the eggs and the EASTER buttons stand out - what do you think?
I had to promise Sydney that I would not photograph the card she made last night (it is really good), otherwise mummy would see it before Easter. Bright girl! So maybe I will reveal Sydneys Easter card over the Easter weekend.
I am really enjoying the weather, colours just seem to come alive when photographed outside....................I know we also need rain, so I am wishing for rain at night and sun during the day. Oh what a perfect world!
Enjoy what ever you have planned today.

My Princess and My Prince
27/03/2012
Look what we have added to our Best of British Collection....................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/prince+and+princess+header.jpg)
Princess and Prince ribbons with little crowns - we think they are rather special and you can find them HERE.
Struggle to find a way of keeping all your ribbons together. Always takes ages to find the ribbon you are after? What ever you do with your ribbons they always seem to get knotted up? Then Mandy may have solved your problem.....................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/mandy+washing.JPG)
She has attached ALL her ribbons to washing racks!!! She folds them up to store them and just unfolds when she needs a ribbon. I think this is a WICKED idea, thanks for sharing it Mandy.
....................now how many washing racks do I need to buy!
More super challenge creations from Claire and Lucy today.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/claire+b.JPG)
Claire has made this delightful bag and matching framed feet.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/claire+b+box.JPG)
I have no idea how Claire made this frame, but it is just adorable. I do love the lime juice ribbon in this Baby collection.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/lucy+heart.JPG)
Lucy you have put a lot of time into this heart, I am sure any mum would be delighted to receive this little gift.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/lucy+2.JPG)
Your crazy patchwork design Lucy is wacky and fun, it can never be the wrong way up!! We had your cushions hanging on the back wall of our exhibition stands Lucy, they created quite a stir with comments and questions. I kept being asked if you had scented them, but each time I took them down or put them up I forgot to smell them!!! Did you scent them Lucy?
Wonderful creations Claire and Lucy, the scope of creations we have seen on this challenge has been vast, just what we like to see.
Another bright and sunny day here in Dorset, I must leave my computer.....................I hear my camera calling me. ![](/docs/blogfiles/2009/1/ali.jpg)

I think this is my favorite Shery.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/sherry+pink+close+up.JPG)
The skill it must have taken to machine sew the 3mm grosgrain ribbon - wow! Sherry you rock.
Thank you Sherry for joining in with our challenge, your creations are so unique, we love them.
Sounds like you all agree with Bev's choice of colours for her NEW Bev's Ribbon Bag.............but who are going to be the lucky winners. We had 4 bags up for grabs this weekend, 3 here on the blog and 1 on Facebook.

Friday FREEBIE - Bev says SPRING is here.....
23/03/2012
......that is what she decided yesterday. SPRING is here, so guess what she made?
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/spring+header.jpg)
............A NEW Bev's bag called SPRING.
Filled with yummy NEW Spring ribbons, in shades of aqua, lime, pink, yellow and orange. Mostly narrow ribbons this time, Bev was in a "slim" mood yesterday. There are stripes, flowers, butterflies, gingham, plain, grosgrain, satin and I think I saw a frog too!
We are sure this would put a SPING into anyones step! You can find Bev's NEW Ribbon Bag HERE. Still the same wicked price of £5.00
What can you do with a Bev's bag.........................................I had a couple of helpers yesterday while taking this photo.............................so we had a play with the ribbons.................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/sam+2+500.jpg)
...............we decided that as the leaves had not come out on the trees........................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/mollie+500.jpg)
...............the branches needed some extra colour............................................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/both+500.jpg)
..................amazing how a few lengths of ribbon can give so much fun...................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/tree+500.jpg)
......................and the tree looked good too..................................
Never seen a ribbon tree? Not something you would do in your woods? You need to come to the woods in Blandford, all kind of "different" things happen in our woods...........................
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/rope+500.jpg)
...................honest, this young lad was tight rope walking between two trees. Mollie had a go on the way back.

I have some super Baby Washing Challenge creations to share with you today from Joanna and Laura.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/joanne.JPG)
I hung this taggie blanket from on the front of the exhibtion stand, just infront of our demo table, it was much admired Joanna. The fleece is so soft, you inspired lots of customers to make their own - thank you.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/joanne+2.JPG)
I remember Sydney used to love playing with the label on her Winnie Bear, specially when she was going to sleep.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/joanne+3.JPG)
Oooooh this is sooooooo cute Joanna, really special.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/laura.JPG)
This delightful little parcel is from Laura, I have to confess that I could not bring myself to unwrap it to photograph the contents.....it looks just so perfect. But I can tell you there is a little pair of socks inside..............ahhhhhhhh.
Thank you Joanna and Laura for your fab creations and for joining in with the challenge.
Is anybody else having problems with this solar eruption or is it just us..................we have blown up our smpt server, broadband is all over the place, computer graphics card just went errrrrr on us, facebook is telling Bev she lives in Camberley, Rachies phone will not even connect to any wi-fi's and my computer keyboard just died!!!

Hello wednesday - hair band
21/03/2012
![](/docs/blogfiles/2010/6/hello+wednesday.png)
Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!
Just what I need this morning - woke up to no broadband AGAIN!! It seems as if I have spent all morning speaking to BT. I was due to have a relaxing morning.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/mollie+head+band+a.jpg)
Janet popped into the warehouse just before we left for Glasgow, she needed some ribbon to make more ribbon brooches............Ooooh I like those Janet. She kindly gave me this white daisy to have a play with.
All I did was to make a ribbon slip knot braiding band with swiss dot ribbon. A 3mtr length is just long enough for hair bands. Using my NEW hot glue gun (the other one had so much glue stuck to the outside that it just stopped working) I stuck the braid to the plastic hair band and pinned the figure of eight daisy brooch to the top.
My model was very helpful and was very happy wearing the hair band yesterday afternoon.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2012/3/ollie+500.jpg)
Mollie and Ollie (Rachie went all gooooey when she saw this photo)
Sorry this posting is a little later then normal for a Wednesday but I had to go for treatment on my thumb again. I am not a very happy bunny, and returned to the warehouse feeling rather down. My thumb is not responding to treatment - Rachie suggested chopping it off, before she saw the tears.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2009/1/ali.jpg)
