New England creates
19/09/2011
Glad to hear you loved our cupcake week, it was rather fun! We visited Tonys grandaughter yesterday, it had been her first week of school and she had made us cupcakes. They were VERY pink with LOTS and LOTS of decorations. I gather she had tipped the tub of silver balls up so eagerly that most of them went on the floor! They were wonderful and we throughly enjoyed them, even with all the little finger marks.
No cupcakes this week but we do have some super New England creates from Pinky and Natalie.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/pinky+cracker.jpg)
The cracker is quite stunning, sadly it got rather squashed in the post, but Pinky took a super photo of it for our NEW Challenge blog, this weeks theme is Anything goes - check it our here. I can not believe it, just clicked onto the challenge to get the correct link and we have had 153 entries and the challenge only started last Thursday, you guys are all amazing - thank you.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/pinky+bag.jpg)
Back to Pinky's creates - three strips of ribbon and Pinky made a bag! Ooooh just think what little treasure this could hold for Christmas.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/pinky+card.jpg)
Arrrrrh talk about adorable, that image is so cute pinky, I love the way you have used the Happy Christmas ribbon as a message banner - wicked.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/nat+stockings.jpg)
Sticking with the "cute" theme - Natalie these are so cute, gorgeous work.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/nat+close+up.jpg)
Thought I would show you the close up of Natalies next card, as the other image is rather ummmm washed out - sorry. I like the way Natalie has used two strips of polka dot ribbon close together, then put the narrow 3mm on top to cover the join - very clever.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/nat+card.jpg)
Ummm as I said rather washed out, rather a shame, it is a delightful card Natalie.
Hope you get a little inspiration from the creates, I will be back later with the Friday FREEBIE winners.

Laura has made this delightful easel card. I love the way you have brought in Gold with the NEW England colours - stunning.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/laura+close+up.jpg)
Sorry photo not brill, but can you see what Laura has done - decoupaged the hanging decorations, fab Laura.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/laura+bookmark.jpg)
Laura's main "thing" is card making but she does dabble in other forms of crafts, so she made this bookmark for me. It is designed to slip over the pages of a paperback. I am an avid reader, so will give it a whirl Laura.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/carol+bear.jpg)
This card was made by Carol one of our DT girls (have you entered our first challenge? you will find it here ). Carol entered the New England Challenge before she was picked to be a DT girl. Your cards are always beautiful Carol, this little bear is a sweetie. I do have a couple more cards from Carol but I will save them for next week.

YOU Create - Kissing Ball
08/09/2011
I had a lovely surprise box from Dorothy a few weeks back. Sorry it has taken so long to share on the blog Dorothy - Christmas got in the way!!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/hanging.jpg)
Any ideas what it is? It is a kissing ball and took Dorothy 3weeks of evening work to create it. It is just magic I will show you more....
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/hanging+2.jpg)
...from the other side. There was no one in the office when I took the photo's, so I had to hold the ball with one hand and try to hold the heavy camera with the other while keeping everything steady to focus!!! Phew not easy.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/on+table.jpg)
Back on terra firma, much clearer photos, you can see the finer details of Dorothy's work.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/close+up+2.jpg)
Dorothy tells me the wider ribbon is great to work with, but she only had this cream ribbon in her stash, it is a Cristmas one. No worries Dorothy it looks gorgeous.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/close+up+1.jpg)
The combination of ribbons, pearls and lace has made this a winner.
Thank you so much for spending the time on this kissing ball Dorothy, it is a treasure.
The sun is out so I hoping to have a good full day behind the camera. Lots to do - New Challenge goodies - halloween ribbons - bev designed a NEW Bag yesterday - Animal Cuties - Basics to go Satin - my list is way to long.....................If I get half of it finished I will be delighted.
Enjoy.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2009/1/ali.jpg)
Hello wednesday - just add beads
07/09/2011
![](/docs/blogfiles/2010/6/hello+wednesday.png)
Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!
I waited all day yesterday to try and photograph this project, it stopped raining about 6, but was still overcast and damp. How the photos managed to come out I have no idea - thanks Canon!
![](/docs/blogfiles/2011/9/glass+bead+necklace+copy.jpg)
I saw a necklace like this in Bath the other weekend and thought......Ooooh I can make something similar.
I used 6 glass style beads threaded onto three different coloured 15mm sheer ribbons here. I then threaded all three ribbons through the fancy jewelled thingies (you can see my jewellery terminology is rather poor) and finished off with a clasp. I would say it took me less than 15mins to make, my hardest decision was what colour ribbons to use!
I received this video yesterday......the stripes...........the black and white ones..............on the chefs hats...............IS OURS!!! Our very own deckchair stripe ribbon.
Well that is supper sorted for tonight..............Oh Tony I will have to go and have a look.
Have a great day.
![](/docs/blogfiles/2009/1/ali.jpg)
