Hello wednesday - handful of buttons

03/08/2011

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday  "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

What a wonderful morning, the sun is out in Dorset and it makes everything so special!

Just a handful of buttons, jump rings and a length of chain.  Just the thing to wear on a perfect summer day.

Dorothy Day

02/08/2011

Dorothy always sends me in so many different goodies for our challenges that I am officially calling this Dorothy Day.

You may have seen Mollie wearing this little number yesterday, she does like her head gear that girl!. Not too sure if Dorothy made the head band or whether she only decorated it.

But the detail is very fine, little ribbon roses with seed bead detail and a matching bow. Mollie definately approves of your creation Dorothy, what fun.

The next item had me a little foxed to start with Dorothy!

Ummmmm until I saw the added detail..........

........a button and bow detail on the back of the neck.........

.....ribbon for her skirt, ric rac for her collar. What a clever way to add interest Dorothy.

Dorothy missed out on this challenge, I think she had family round for afternoon tea and could not use her computer. So this thank you card was for me, for making room on the challenge for her. No probs Dorothy, it's really Rachie that should get the thanks - she is the one that makes up the challenge parcels and sends them out. I just increase up the number on her!!!!!!

Lovely card Dorothy and beautifully trimmed with ribbons and buttons.

Back to school - these initialed pencil cases are just perfect for the start of a new school year.

One each for Sydney and Sam.

And one for our little Mollie.

It is always fun to open Dorothy's challenge boxes, thank you for taking part and giving us all some wonderful inspiration Dorothy.

I hope you have enjoyed your Dorothy Day.

Ribbon Bucket winners

01/08/2011

Well it is here - AUGUST - to some the start of the summer. For me it is the last free month before the exhibition season starts - arrrrgh.

No panic whatsoever, of course we are ready. No we would not have been silly and used our exhibition stock for orders. Of course our exhibition stand is fully stocked up and waiting for Exeter.......................Ok a girl can DREAM!!

We will be at these following exhibitions this Autumn, will you be able to come and see us?

Creative Stitches - Westpoint - Exeter 22nd - 25th September 2011

The Knitting & Stitching Show - Alexandra Palace - London 6th - 9th October 2011

Hobbycrafts - N.E.C. - Birmingham 3rd - 6th November 2011

Creation Savoir Faire- Porte Versailles - Paris 16th - 20th November 2011

We are very sorry but we will not be in Dublin this year. Both Tony and I are very sad that we can not attend, we have been in Dublin since 1996, that's 15 years of happy ribbon trading.

O.K. I have wiped my tears away, time for the Friday FREEBIE winners..........................

The first number out of the bag will get the complete set of 3 Bev's Summer Bucket Ribbons............................

ummmm more about Mollie's head dress tomorrow!

Number 2 = Judi

Being as I'm such a 'girly' girl, it would have to be PINK for me, but I love 'em all.

The next three numbers were chosen by Mollie and her friend Lukas.  The winnere can choose either Lime, Turquoise or Shocking.........

Number 4 = Gail R

I would choose pink

...as you know who would be getting to use most of my ribbons and she's a pink lover lol

Lots already decorated with furry ribbons I doubt I'll see very much of that- sharing sometimes doesn't work in reverse I find ... where pretty things and pretty girls collide in particular... Then again maybe I'm just a soft touch lol

Not a clue where this year has gone *looks under sofa*

Number 16 = Jan Marshall

Ohhhh I love them all , fantastic as ever , I have sat an studied and tried to pick a favourite colour but I cant choose
have a great weekend
Love Jan
xx

Number 34 = Audrey

Great ribbons, Bev - but can't we include the bucket please Ali?  I'm sure Molly won't mind sharing!
If I'm drawn out second, I'd like the pink bag or do I mean the lime bag or .... fingers crossed I'm out first!
Thanks
Audrey

A little bit of Colour Create to take my mind off the exhibtion stand.

Natalie has a unique way with her cards, they are always so perfect.

Three simple lines of ribbon add a few flowers and a button or two - pure magic.

Oh NO Natalie you have me thinking about Christmas again! What a super fun card, great colours Natalie, think you will like our NEW Christmas Ribbons. I had an email this morning to confirm the last batch of our designs are going through the factory this week. Crafty Ribbons OWN Christmas ribbons very excited. Friday FREEBIE - 29

29/07/2011

Ooooh it is nearly August.  Someone please tell me where this year has gone.

With Bev still away on Holiday what better Friday FREEBIE then her NEW Collection of summer ribbons.

Which colour would you pick?

After having a good old play with these ribbons, I am not sure I would be able to just have 1 colour!  I think I would have to go for the set of 3........or is that just plain greedy.  No you can never be greedy where ribbon is concerned.  We have one set of 3 Bev's NEW Summer Bucket of ribbons for the first number out of our "Bingo" bag on Monday and then 1 colour bag for the next three numbers.  So four winners in total. See I am not greedy, I share my ribbons...............well the ones I show you...tee hee.........

Have an awesome weekend everyone.

If you are unable to leave a comment due to our spam filters, please email it to craftyribbons@gmail.com and we will add it for you.  All the comments go into our "Bingo" bag and we draw a random number(s) on Monday.
Please check back to see if you have won, it is up to you to claim your prize - we do not contact you.

Hello wednesday - a dash of red

27/07/2011

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday  "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

I tried this technique early in the year with a pair of jeans for Mollie, but it didn't work.  But this time.........

Little ribbon loops sewn onto the bottom of a denim skirt.  Mollie loved it!

I simplY took a selection of ribbons, cut them into lengths and machined them to the bottom of the skirt. No measuring, no pinning just pure play!!

Mollie has a "thing" about ribbon, I have no idea why - the best is when I catch her twirling it.

The concentration is wicked - all for ribbon.

Magic - pure magic.

Hand delivery

26/07/2011

I had my first hand delivered Challenge parcel for Colour Create.

Janet found us back in the spring.  Although we have been in Blandford for nearly 16 years, we keep ourselves to ourselves! A unit on Clump Farm, down Tin Pot Lane, you have no need to pass it, it is not on the way to anywhere.  I can not remember how Janet found us, we get a few visitors to the warehouse, but Janet comes bearing gifts.

Look what was in the bag - two beautiful wrapped tubes, (what a clever idea to re-use these delicious snacks) and a wrapped prezzie.  I remember Janet telling me there was something for ALL in one of the tubes............... ummmm.

Yummmy that's elevenses sorted - thanks Janet.  Janet pops in to see us most weeks, so she must have picked up the vibe that we like our biscuits!!  The only problem now is to work out who's turn it is to make the tea...NOT mine!

Next was the yellow prezzie, the brightness of the tissue paper was calling out to be opened........WOW Janet that bag is awesome.

Look at the detail, truly wonderful.  Do you give lessons Janet? I can crochet but not like that.  The little bag has even got a little popper to stop it from opening.

Did you see the little bracelet that was in with the purse?  It uses 2 colours of 3mm satin ribbon and looks to be braided, but I can not seem to work out where the second colour disappears to, unless its braided on top of it.  Maybe Janet will leave us a comment explaining it or I will ask next time she visits.

Next was the yellow tub, and more wrapped prezzies fell out. The box looks like one of our button boxes, I think Janet has purchased every single one of our button boxes, she even saw the NEW colours before they were launched!

I do know how to make these flowers, and so do you...........yes you do.......you can find the instructions here.  It is just amazing what you can do with ribbon!

Three little treasures - A crochet cupcake, a button ring and a button necklace. I love the cupcake, it is sooooo sweet, sorry I do not seem to have taken a close up photo of it.  Janet has been wearing this type of button necklace while visiting us, she tells me they are easy to make!

Once again Janet has used her crocheting skill and worked her magic on these buttons to make this gorgeous necklace.  Janet has made me another necklace with instructions that I will share with you at a later date, I need to go off and practice my crocheting a bit first!  I can not tell you how to make something, if I have not tried to do it.

Thank you Janet for finding us, thank you for visiting us. Janet has seen all the warehouse improvements over the last few weeks, she has seen us in a total state of disruption, probably felt the vibes of unhappy staff members because I have moved the ribbons AGAIN! It's nice having local customers.

Lush velvet winners

25/07/2011

I know you have all been dying to find out who has won this weeks Friday FREEBIE prize of the NEW Lush Velvet Saddle Stitch.......

................should I keep you in suspense and do a few colour create goodies first..................

...no that would be mean........

As we only had the pleasure of Mollie today, there was none of the normal argy bargy as to who would pick the numbers or even hold the "Bingo" bag!

Mollie was in complete control and picked numbers......................

Number 8 = Corey U
My sister would love these! she would sit there stroking them all day and then make fashion shows with her dolls! thankyou

Number 17 = Laura
Ooh, they do look yummy!

Corey's sister and Laura are two very lucky girls.  These NEW Velvet Saddle Stitch Ribblons are totally LUSH and are coming your way - all we need are addresses please to craftyribbons@gmail.com.  Mega thanks for everyone taking the time out from your summer hols to leave us a comment.  I do know that this time of year it is hard to fit eveything in, your comments are very important to us, so thanks again.

Colour Create - yes I did work Sunday..........but taking photo's is that really work?  The office was totally quiet, no phones not even the hummm of computers, unique really!

The first parcel I opened was from Julie.

Julie you must be a true Crafty Ribbons follower - this is just what I need for my NEW desk.  As we reorganised our warehouse, we also decided to reorgainse our main work desks, the hub of the warehouse where we pull the orders.  This will sit very proudly on my side of the work desk - thank you Julie.

You must have a very steady hand Juile, the way you have stuck the braid on is amazing.

Look, look a matching coaster for ME! I get the feeling you had a Cherry Jam Pot Collection of ribbons.

WOW I really really do need this Julie, It is not that I lose my scissors or even misplace them...............NO they get stolen.or should I say borrowed by other team members!!!  No excuse now girls, those scissors are MINE!

I do admire Cross stitchers - such work of art you guys create.

Fantastic Julie, thank you for all you goodies, they will be well used.

Bev's Summer Buckets

25/07/2011

Bev has been thinking of her summer holiday for weeks - relaxing around the pool, playing with Syd and Sam on the beach.  So when I found these buckets and spades she snapped them up for her NEW Summer Collection of Bev's Ribbons.

Three colour collections lime, turquoise and shocking there are 20 different ribbons in each collection so 60 different ribbons in total.  All the ribbons are 1mtr long and still the amazing price of £5.00 each or........................WANT IT ALL of the 3 colours for £13.00

That's Bev's Summer Bargain for you.  As always they are limited so snap them up while you can because I am sure Bev will be thinking of her next colour combo while sitting around the pool!!!  You can find Bev's NEW Summer Buckets of ribbons HERE

It was not only Bev that liked my buckets and spades, the little ones have been dying to get their hands on them......................

I photographed the pink bucket first and put it behind me so it would not blow away, I did the same when I finished the Lime one.........but.................... a certain someone had removed the ribbons and was having a good old play!!  The weather was not very nice yesterday so we had the beach to our selves!

I wonder why...

Guess what...
