Last of Colour Create

06/09/2011

We are almost at the end of our Colour Create Challenge, it sort of got split in two with the launch of all the Christmas Ribbons - sorry.  I have put an album together of all the creations and you can find it here.

The last two treasures are from Andrea, Melanie and mum too! - once again sorry it has taken so long to showcase your goodies.

I think this is very original Melanie, the heart buttons make perfect buttonflies.

How simple but effective is that? Such a bright idea, if you want to borrow Melanie's inspiration then you can find the buttons here.

Oh Melanie your designs are so elegant.

 Fantastic use of ribbons.

I have never been brave enough to make a totally acetate card.  But Andrea has achieved it with a flourish.  Not a messy bit in sight, even the raw ribbon ends are concealed under the bow, great work Andrea.

This was made by mum, not sure whose, Mels or Andrea's.  When they received all the ribbons and buttons for the challenge, mum just had to join in as well.  Fantastic team work girls. I love the way the little buttons have had ribbon threaded through them - perfect.

Now this is a little beauty Andrea.

Look at all the work, this will be coming to Exeter with us on our exhibition stand.  I am sure a lot of people will get great inspiration from it Andrea.

That's it - another challenge over.  Mega thanks to everyone that took part in our Colour Create Challenge, we hope you enjoyed playing with the ribbons and buttons, we certainly have enjoyed looking at all your wonderful creations.

What a horrid day, I had planned on taking photos, but as I like taking them outside I think they will have to wait! Several parcels have arrived for the start of the NEW Challenge called "New England".  Maybe the sun will be out tomorrow!

Stay dry and warm

All the fours....

05/09/2011

We have had to wait for the "Bingo" bag picker to wake up!  She had such a busy weekend at the Dorchester Show that she fell asleep after lunch and has only just woken up.

It was rather difficult to get her to smile, all her new horses, landrover and horse box had to be in the photo, as well as her trusted tattie teddy.  But we got there in the end.  Mollie picked number................

Number 44 = Emma
Wow, the ribbons just keep getting better and better. They have all been such fabulous designs, you must have had so much fun creating them! I can just imagine the excitement when you open them all up when they get delivered! Looking forward to finding out about the secret ribbons too!

Before you all go... we have also picked the winner for the candy for following our NEW Challenge Blog.....

Mollie picked number 4 = Wilma

Winter Wonderland

05/09/2011

Oh how I have ooohed and aahhd this weekend, trying to decide which of the last two EXCLUSIVE ribbons to show you today.

I just could not decide, I love these designs so much, they are both full of fun which I hope will add a touch of humour to your Christmas crafting...............
so here they are together....................

We have Santa wishing you a happy christmas love santa x surrounded by snow that sparkles when moved.....

.....that's right on this design we had glitter added to the printing process, so the snowflakes actually glisten when moved.  The design detail is truly special, even down to the little shadow underneath Santa's hands.

Next is Rudolf - well you cannot have Santa without his trusted reindeer, can you.

Why not take a walk with Rudolf - Walking in a winter wonderland.  Magic pure magic. We all know that Rudolf has a big red nose, but we have made it extra special by adding red glitter, yes it sparkles.

Both designs are printed onto 38mm grosgrain ribbon, in different shades of blue.  Once again we have designed these ribbons ourselves so they are EXCLUSIVE to us, you can find both of these designs HERE.

Do you have a favourite, would you have been able to pick which design to launch first?!

That is it - all my designs have now been launched - I feel rather empty - all my ideas and thoughts have been turned into actual ribbon.

I never ever thought I would design our own collection of ribbon, a big first for me.  Thank you to everyone who has purchased my designs, I may be very silly but it gives me great pleasure seeing the designs leave the warehouse.  I do hope they give you as much pleasure when you receive them

Thanks everyone.

Friday FREEBIE - 34

02/09/2011

We had a wonderful surprise yesterday.  We received our shipment of ribbons that we have been eagerly waiting for, the one that contained the snowiness let it snow ribbon, the baubles and the Funky Trees & Parcel ribbons.....

......well the surprise was this......

.....Ho - ho - ho.............. straight from Santa!

This and the two other exclusive designs were not due to be with me until the END of September, but the factory finished them early.  They decided not to advise me, and just put them in the consigment as a surprise.  Welll..........I think the whole of Blandford must have heard our delighted screams yesterday!!!!!!  Several faces appeared at the windows in the unit opposite ours!  It is lucky they know us and so came round for a peek.

We were so busy packing all the PRE-ORDERS (they should be arriving on your door steps today) that I only got to quickly tie a bow to display this ribbon.  Pure Santa red grosgrain in 38mm with white Ho - ho - ho which is raised the same as the side stitching, this gives the ribbon a wonderful "I must touch" quality!  As of writing this post the ribbon is not on the website, first job of the day and I will put the link HERE when it is. On the website now!

Joanna the winner of last weeks Friday FREEBIE wanted a surprise for her prize, I sent her this ribbon plus the two other designs - she will be the first crafter to have these ribbons.  Joanne did they arrive this morning?   Shhh please do not tell everyone what the other ribbons are - I will reveal all next week. Do you like them?  Are they a MUST HAVE for Christmas this year?  Oooooh how I would love to be on someones MUST HAVE list... not ME but my ribbons!

If you leave a comment this week you will be able to pick your own ribbons from our website, that's right it is a Friday FREEBIE VOUCHER week.

Go on leave us a comment this week and we will pick a winner from our "Bingo" bag on Monday.  Any problems leaving a comment (due to our spam filters) then just email it to craftyribbons@gmail.com and we will add it for you.

Have an awesome weekend.

If you are unable to leave a comment due to our spam filters, please email it to craftyribbons@gmail.com and we will add it for you.
All the comments go into our "Bingo" bag and we draw a random number(s) on Monday.
Please check back to see if you have won, it is up to you to claim your prize - we do not contact you.

NEW Challenge Starts today

01/09/2011

Ooooh I am very excited today...........Our NEW Challenge Blog (here) kicks off with it's first Challenge.

and I have been busy making my card.  The trouble was I had so many ribbons to choose from, I struggled,

traditional or contemporary.............

in the end I went for this

Traditional with a contemporary twist...

(I have confessed to the DT girls that I cannot colour and do not own a rubber stamp!)

I used 3 ribbons, the first is the white opal with the red edge, this sparkles in the light - here.
The second is our very own Happy Christmas embossed velvet - here.
and finally the wonderful red poinsettia - here

Yes the poinsettia is made from nothing but ribbon, here is a side view.

All I have done is backed the ribbon onto card and cut out. Tutorial here.
There are some half poinsettias on the ribbon,
perfect for building up a full flower.

Do pop over to the NEW Challenge blog to see what all the fab DT girls have made with ribbon.

Hello wednesday - let it snow

31/08/2011

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday  "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

You guys are all amazing - thank you so much.  We launched the Let it snow ribbon on Friday, and we just cannot believe it...........we need to RE-ORDER! That's right we are going to have to re-print one of our EXCLUSIVE designs.  The best bit.........we have not even received our first delivery.

We thought it was good, BUT not that good, a big THANK YOU from the Crafty Team.

This is the little beauty - Let it snow..... printed with a raised snowiness to it.

I teamed it up with our Go Grosgrain this Christmas (here) snowflakes.  They are just fluttering down the card.  The backing paper is not a paper, well it is, but it is from a  roll of wrapping paper.  Something I just had to have on my recent trip to London, to be honest you would think it was jewel encrusted it was so expensive - but wickedly gorgeous.

Please do not panic if you did not get round to ordering the Let it snow ribbon over the weekend (here).  We have not sold out, but the stock we ordered, that we planned to last until Christmas will not. If it continues to sell at the rate it is, it will be gone in September - 3 months early.

Tomorrow is the start of our NEW Challenge blog (here).  Although I am not on the DT, as such, I am going to play along as much as I can.  I have my card all ready, even photographed but I now have to learn how to work blogger!!! Wish me luck.

I hope you have time to visit us tomorrow and please do play along, you still have time to enter for the candy on the challenge blog (here), also the candy on Mandy's blog (here) and our very own candy (here).  Phew that is a lot of candy!!

Who has been lucky with Christmas?

30/08/2011

Oooops!  Sorry forgot to post this, just had a phone call from Rachie to ask where it was.

You all want to know who has won this weeks Friday Freebie prize?  Who has some fab Christmas ribbons coming their way?  Let see who Mollie picked from our "Bingo" Bag.....

Number 7 = Niina
Too hard to choose, maybe the velvets or baubles or....hehehe

Number 22 = Joanna
Ooh another 'choosy' week, they are so very hard on us you know! Wink Umm, umm, oh I really don't know.  To be honest, if I ever won a Friday Freebie I would be absolutely delighted with any choice of ribbon as I love them all! You have excelled yourselves with the fabulous designs this year, and I am ever so glad I found your stand at a craft fair so long ago Wink

Congratulations Niina and Joanna all we need are addresses please to craftyribbons@gmail.com. Some of the ribbons you have picked are not in the country yet, I have my fingers crossed they will turn up tomorrow.  So just confirm what you would like in the email.  Sorry to everyone who left a super comment - we love reading your comments, so thank you for taking part.

Our colour Create Challenge is almost over - I only have a few more creations to share.  This little collection has come from Julie, hope you enjoy looking.

Julie sent me a shoe box, not any old shoe box, but a very delicate decorated one, but hang on what is inside........

Isn't that wicked - WOW Julie.

What fine work Julie.  Julie had a bit of a surprise when she opened her Challenge parcel she had asked for a Gooseberry Jam Pot......and we had sent her Apricot - oops sorry!

You have done a wonderful job working with a colour you did't ask for Julie. The border detail on the card is great fun, but my favourite is the bunting.

What detail.

Your boxes are very clever Julie and just make everything extra special.

Gems and ribbons - pure magic.

Stunning Julie, simply stunning.

I only have Andrea's and Melanie's works of art to share with you, then Colour Create challenge is over.  I am sure you will agree with me, the projects, ideas and inspiration that the challengers have given us is unreal - thank you guys you are all super.

A little bit of purple, red & pink

30/08/2011

Oh I start to dread this time of year, the summer is over. The last Bank holiday is gone till Christmas.............oh well I will just have to change my colours.

Tina, Karen and Carol all seem very happy with reds, purples and pink, loving the warm colours.  Tina picked the Cherry Jam Pot Ribbons to work with, Karen choose Blackcurrant....mmmm my favourite and Carol wanted the Strawberry.

This book Tina created needs no words from me, it tells it's own story.

Tina it is gorgeous, I love it.

Little Tilda all dressed in red with a little red bow - perfect.  Oh I do wish I could colour, I know you have tried to help me Tina but to be honest I need more time to practice.  I did dabble with painting over the weekend, well face painting - Sydney bought herself a box of paints.  I was not very good and she kept on laughing, she was over the moon with my handiwork but all I could see were the faults!  I am seeing her today and I am sure she will have her paints with her.

Oh it is that time of year, Christmas is coming. This little stocking is just for me - well it does have a A on the front for Ali. I think the little patch of ribbon is adorable Tina.

Great button detail, thanks Tina.  I will only have a small stocking this year Tony, nothing big - maybe something shiny will fit the bill.  A girl can dream.

Scrummy, yummy a blackcurrant cupcake. Yes, I like very much, what a perfect picture Karen.

Look at the wavy icing and the hundreds and thousands sprinkled on top.

You all make such wonderful keyrings, there is no way I could put keys on this beauty, it is far to pretty. But it will look fab as a bag charm, looking pretty without the work of having to look after keys.  I am awful with keys, I can never find them.  My office keys have been taken away from me, I have lost misplaced them twice now.  They are safe.......somewhere!  Karen your beautiful keyring will have a very good home, hope you enjoyed playing with all the purples?

These little designs amaze me, I wonder where they came from........any idea what it is?  It is a corner bookmark, how clever is that Carol.

Another cracking idea from Carol, a taggy card - just think you can change the tag messages to suit the receiver.  I think this is a super idea, also ribbons and tags were made for each other!

Sorry I do not know the name of this fairy, but she is covered in Fairy dust to make your day extra special.  Great ideas Carol, thanks for creating for us.

Rachie has booked me out today to help plan the exhibtion stand with her.............before I get anywhere near the stand I know the ribbons will not fit........far to many!!!!

I will be back later with the winners of the Friday FREEBIE.

Friday FREEBIE - 33

26/08/2011

Let it snow............... well maybe not in August!

16mm grosgrain in dreamy traditional red and green but with that contemporary twist you expect from Crafty Ribbons, we have included purple, pink and blue.  Not just any Let it snow........ ribbon - this ribbon feels like snow.  The wording is is in pure white and raised, in a snowball type of way!!!  Run your fingers over the ribbon and you can feel the snowiness (not sure there is such a word) of the wording.  Add this ribbon to any card or project and it will be a winner! You can find them all here, sorry PRE ORDER only for despatch early September - which is only next week!

....have I left the best till last? That's up to you............which of our NEW Christmas Ribbons have made their way onto your wish list?

Could it be the Funky trees from Wednesday or, the rich Happy Christmas velvets from Tuesday, or yesterdays classic Bauble ribbons or is it today's gooey let it snow ribbons?

Leave us a comment and tell us your fab ones and we will pick two winners from our "Bingo" bag on Tuesday.

Wow - now that Christmas is over for me, can I go away on my summer holiday? I have been thinking Christmas thoughts for so many weeks I could do with a good bit of sun.  Not sure I will get it this Bank Holiday weekend though!!!

Have a great time, what ever you have planned.

If you are unable to leave a comment due to our spam filters, please email it to craftyribbons@gmail.com and we will add it for you.  All the comments go into our "Bingo" bag and we draw a random number(s) on Tuesday.
Please check back to see if you have won, it is up to you to claim your prize - we do not contact you.

Christmas Baubles

25/08/2011

We all like baubles at Christmas time, so we just had to include a bauble somewhere in our range of EXCLUSIVE christmas ribbons...

A classic bauble design but with a modern twist of colours.

Each bauble has been decorated with either silver or gold raised printing.  Run your fingers over the design to experience this unique form of printing. We have carried this through to the Happy Christmas message to create a truly unique ribbon. I have tried to show the raised printing in the photograph, you can almost touch the  little snowflakes on the baubles.

38mm grosgrain in pink or blue with silver printing  3 different baubles purple, pink and blue all decorated with silver snowflakes.  The red and lime ribbons have gold printing with blue, red and green baubles this time decorated with gold snowflakes.   We spent a long time putting all these colours combos together and as for the raised printing we drove the factory mad!  It had to be right, the snowflakes had to look like snowflakes not drops of gold and silver ink!

If you want to add a touch of class and luxury to your Christmas crafting or gift wrapping then this is the ribbon for you. Once again the wording reads Happy Christmas, this is not any shop bought mass produced christmas ribbon this is from Crafty Ribbons EXCLUSIVE collection!    You can find them HERE.

I know you want them.....but not just yet........... we are taking PRE-ORDERS as we have not received our bulk delivery.  It is on it's way to us and will be in Dorset sometime next week, so we have said delivery early September.

BUT who would like to get their hands on these baubles before anyone else?  I have a 1mtr length of each colour only - that's it until the delivery arrives.  First two emails with address to craftyribbons@gmail.com  will get one silver and one gold each.  ALL GONE - SORRY.

Have fun.
