Friday FREEBIE- lets shout
11/04/2014
Happy Friday everyone.
I want to shout, I really want to shout about ribbon!
But sadly I have Laryngitis again and am only able to croak!
I am getting truly fed up of it know.
I worked out yesterday that I have been without a voice for 56 days this year.
But what really upsets me the most is – my 3 little crafting buddies can not understand me.
So who will do some shouting for me?
Anyone?
Everyone?
Shout about how much you like using ribbon on your creations.
Which is your favourite ribbon of choice?
Please leave me a comment and tell me what ribbons you like to use.
I will put a special collection of goodies together as todays Friday FREEBIE prize.
So simply add your name to the list and leave me a comment as to what your
Special collections of goodies would be!

Hello wednesday–it’s all in the bag
09/04/2014
I am not sure if my family really like me using ribbon on their prezzies I make for them,
or whether they have just accepted I am ribbon crazy!!
It was Rachie’s birthday last week and I made her this…….
…..her birthday is the 1st April. So she was rather trepidatious when she went to undo the bow!
We have played some really horrid tricks on her over the years.
But the bag held nothing but a polka dot cotton top – which she loved.
This bag was an upcycled affair.
I have several of these cream bags, ummm….. they come with wonderful perfume in them.
They are normally trimmed with black grosgrain ribbon, you may know the brand?
I therefore had to do a bit over covering up of logos etc.
A bit of matting and layering and my trade mark ribbon tag.
All in cream, brown and pinks.
I threaded four small brown buttons with pink embroidery thread to add to the cream card.
Finally I wanted to put Happy Birthday on the bag, but had no ribbon in pink or brown.
I thought of a tag, but went off of the idea.
So I made this little trim using our French Happy Birthday ribbon.
I wrapped the prezzie in tissue paper – wrapped in ribbon (of course!).
I had a wicked time making this.
Have fun.
schools out
07/04/2014
Hello all, look what I got sent last week…..
…….my three crafting buddies had broken up from school
and wanted to start crafting.
BUT Auntie Ali was away at Excel looking at this for 3 days!
A sweetie shop. OH NO I love sweeties!!!
I think I tried all the sweets on the top shelf AND
most of the ones on the second.
I do hope I am NEVER opposite him again.
Excel is a unique venue.
this stands at the front entrance.
And there are loads of these.
Cranes everywhere.
I have not been to Excel since my accident almost a year ago.
I did find it very hard to go back, but feel confident that I have
finally squashed my finger gremlins.
I even managed a visit to First Aid to thank the nurse for all
her help and care.
That’s it our Spring show season is over for another year.
A HUGE thank you to everyone that came to see us.
Friday FREEBIE–doggy treats
04/04/2014
Happy Friday everyone.
Well well how come such a simple idea could create such interest.
I have created lots and lots of different items over the years,
but my doggy cushion has certainly hit the spot!
Firstly thank you to everyone that joined in with last weeks Friday FREEBIE,
it is always great to read your comments.
You have given me several ideas for other animal silhouette ribbons.
As we are away again – yes a different city, different hotel room.
Although I must admit this hotel room is rather nice. Tony got us upgraded,
and we even have a room over looking the river. If you have forgotten where we are this week,
we are in London at Excel for the Hobbycrafts show.
No random org this week, so lets go with our room number again.

Ooops sorry Bev.

(IT MUST be one of the animals on the ribbon)
and I will turn it into a template for you.
AND the animal ribbon colour of your choice,
AND the Black Basics 2 Go buttons,
AND the black felt.
So all you will need is the cushion and the time to make it!
Add your name to the list AND leave us a comment with your chosen animal and colour.
I have already been asked to make a turquoise cat for Sydney, a pink bunny for Mollie
and a black Jack Russell for my cousin. Looks like I am going to be busy girl.

Anything goes with butterflies
03/04/2014
Wow another week has past, so it must be time for a new challenge.

I am sharing with you a card that was made for me.
Nope not my birthday……….
…….but to say Thanks.

Angela gave this card when she came to see us at The Spring Kitting and Stitching show at Olympia.
It is totally gorgeous and is now sitting on my desk.
Look at those butterflies, they make me smile.
Thank you Angela, your card is wonderful.
Angela used the vintage ribbons, you can find them here
Why not pop over to our Challenge Blog and see what the other Ribbon team members
have created for you. Even better why not join in.
Have a great day.
Hello wednesday - dog buttons
02/04/2014
Morning everyone, how are you all today.
I am on the road again on our way to the Excel London Hobbycrafts show.
I am really excited I managed to do some sewing…………
…and I finished it!!
Look at my doggy cushion – do you like him?
Yes the doggy is made from buttons
He is from our NEW Silhouette dog ribbons.
You can just see him on the red and the cream ribbon above.
I so enjoyed making this cushion that I am giving you the free template, so you can make one too.
Materials needed
Cushion cover or suitable fabric
Black felt
Black Basics 2 Go Buttons here
Dog Silhouette ribbon here (I used the cream colour)
Black thread and needle
Right click the template below and copy it to your computer.
Increase the template to the size that you require to fit your cushion and print out.
Place the template onto the black felt and cut around the outline.
Position felt onto your cushion and pin in place.
Now the fun begins……….start sorting through the black buttons and sewing them to the felt.
Fill the dog shape with buttons. I started on the outer edges and worked towards the centre.
I then trimmed the top and bottom of the cushion with the silhouette ribbons, stitching with black thread.
I folded a few bits of ribbon to make the dog tags
and sewed them into the side of the cushion.
I think I will have to make another one of these, I had so much fun.
If you want to see this cushion then I am taking it to the Hobbycrafts
show at Excel London,
this week. Find it on stand C28.
Find out more about this show here.
Have a great week.

Hello wednesday–silhouettes or shadows
26/03/2014
Hello everyone, oh it is so nice to wake up in ones own bed.
Tony and I still feel tired from the shows, but I am sure a few more sleeps
and we will be back to full strength.
I managed a little crafting yesterday with Sam. Sorry I can not show you what
we made it was for mummy (Bev). But we sure did have fun!
We used our latest NEW ribbon.
Do you remember I told you I ran out of time to launch all the NEW ribbons before I started
the shows - tah dah well here they are.
Silhouettes or shadows of dogs, cats, horses, rabbits and dinosaurs.
Each animal group has four different colours. I should say FAB colours.
You can find them here.
Look what our talented design team have been doing with the ribbon.
Super duper creations.
The ribbons are all 25mm grosgrain. They have been really popular at the shows.
We came back from the NEC with 1 (single one ribbon) of the Garden Rose Rabbit ribbon.
Something to do with Easter soon maybe?
Have a great day everyone – I am hoping to get a few hours to myself today.
Not to take off or go out silly – BUT I have an idea for a NEW range of ribbons.
AND I have been itching to get my ideas laid out.
Ooooh……………….. maybe more new ribbons soon.
